So focused on the handball he could easily have given a foul.Ball hits hand which is above the shoulder meets the criterion for a pen.
I wasn’t aware that Adebayo’s straight right to the jaw to head the ball in the first place was within the laws of the game though!

I'm OK with it if the decision is given everytime by VAR which seemed to happen yesterday. The frustration kicks in if the var decides to take his own view which is not always consistent and fairness is lost when open to opinion. It should simply be, did the player have sufficient time to move hand out of the way of the ball.
If answer is no, then no penalty.. no idea why have to complicate things.
The left arm in the face of Holgate (?) doesn’t look too clever either!I think Souza takes a knock in the neck/head, and as a reflex puts his hands up to protect his head, and consequently his high hand is hit by the ball.

It didn't just take the pace off it, it completely altered the direction of the ball. If it doesn't hit the Luton player's arm, it's a goal, simple as. Straight in the corner, the keeper's getting nowhere near it.There's an argument for ours being given as the ball was heading to the goal. The handball took the pace off it and made it an easy gather for the keeper.

I'm afraid Refs going to the monitor is all part of the pantomime the Premier League has become. What's the point in the referee going to the monitor? He always gives the pen when VAR suggest he take a look. Just give it immediately and save time.
Theirs wasn't a pen. It was clearly accidental with no advantage gained. There's an argument for ours being given as the ball was heading to the goal. The handball took the pace off it and made it an easy gather for the keeper.
In a game of football over 100 minites the ball is going to accidentally come into contact with players' arms quite a few times. It's almost always accidental and normally play is waved on. Unless the contact takes place in the box and VAR is on the job. They just love giving pens.

Holgate is dragging the header's shirt down to impede his jump - that's more a penalty for Luton than Vini's handballThe left arm in the face of Holgate (?) doesn’t look too clever either!
'Handball rule is an absolute joke' - Shearer
Match of the Day pundits Alan Shearer and Martin Keown criticise the two penalties given in the Premier League match between Luton and Sheffield United.www.bbc.co.uk
but that's down to opinion again.
Did the Luton player have time to get his hand out of the way?
Those are the distances where some will say yes and some will say no.
Any decisions involving opinion will always be controversial.
The fans that lose out will be crying "fix, corrupt" etc whereas the fans that gain from the decision will say it was correct.
What you're suggesting means you could put your arms in a scarecrow shape but then claim you couldn't get out of the way if the ball hits you from close range.Neither one had enough time to react, I get your point though
