What top championship player is going to want to come to United in the present financial and managerial circumstances?

Player X - To Agent - "Mr Slimy Leech, I heard SheffU made an enquiry for me, why didn't you tell me?
S L - I look after your best interests X my son, that's why.
P X - Der, ok, but I'm still in the dark.
S L - Look son, you've got a choice of clubs I can sell you, sorry introduce you to. If I was to say one of them is scrapping about trying to raise a poxy 2.5 mill to mount a challenge for Premiership football and the owners had to go to Court to decide whether to loan or give half each would you be impressed? If I told you that one of those owners reckons there's no need to invest in the team over the close season would you reckon they had any ambition? If I told you their entire budget for this year for players wages is bottom half Championship AND it's unlikely to be increased because of the legal dispute would you worry about bringing in good players in January or getting any bonus? Finally, if you thought you might get a game rather than bench warming because their manager wants you and then that manager was gone gone gone when there's a change of ownership would you thank me? Nah son, too risky, stick with Slimy Leech for your own good.
P X - Thanks Mr Leech, Lincoln City it is then.

Am I being too pessimistic? :( CW has used the dreaded "over the line" phrase. :( Doomed

I thought much the same and that it probably means loan deals where the players don't have to commit quite so much.

Financial and menagerial circumstances? Have I missed something?

No, I think you've hit the nail on the head there snowman
More small time embarrassment at boardroom level from the club that invented small time boardroom embarrassments

It's always good to blame the owners, it restores normality, I find.

Well there's a good reason why a potentially very big football club, in a very big city, that has tremendous support, hasn't even looked like achieving anything in almost a hundred years and haven't looked remotely like securing top flight status for longer than two minutes for almost 60 years

I suppose we've just been unlucky eh ?
Maybe the club is cursed

Some people might believe that, even our owner, but we all know really what the problem has been

No, I agree, I'm happy to disperse of my old Nikes, in the cherry st car park.

If we’re cursed who is our Babe Ruth or Harry Frazee that we can blame?

don't see this misen.
we all moan that we're a selling club, so that means players can go higher than us..

the reality is player X wants to come to us, he couldn't give a shite about the owners, but can be sold on the way CW believes in youth, gives players a chance to take risks, develops them and is a good bloke to work for.
he can also look at how at the world cup we had walker & Maguire, and Cahill (loan) from the blades, not to mention the success of DCL, Naughton, etc
let's see what happens, then criticise, rather than whinge about something that hadnt even happened!

I think you are being a little pessimistic. We aren't at the point of no return as yet but I feel we need to get a bit more realistic.

I think he means it’s turning into a circus!

On here it certainly is.

In reality the manager has just signed a new contract and he's been given an increased budget, which he has stated he is happy with.
