Little else to do. Thought today he was more than ok.

The one he let in was 1st half and he didn't exactly throw it into the net, I haven't seen it since the game, but at the time I felt he should have got a hand to it. The cracking save was 2nd half and he did really well with that one. He definitely wasn't the reason we lost.

Both the goal and the save came from long throw ins and we looked vulnerable to that tactic. Bolton had two big centre backs, Beevers was up most times, plus Madine and we struggled to cope with them.

The priority list of signings should be:

1. A decent partner for Fleck in midfield
2. A winger to play on the opposite side to Duffy
3. A first choice right-sided centre-half, to allow the seemingly competent Wilson to be decent back-up
4. A decent experienced keeper that isn't physically or mentally frail

In that order. Number 4 is not as much of a priority as any of numbers 1-3.

Agree with most of that. Swap 3 with 4 though.

No I didnt, I've seen him plenty of times though and more than enough to know that he is a nervous, unconfident keeper who doesn't command his area, doesn't communicae with his defenders, flaps at crosses and corners and is prone to clangers that cost the team goals and points. So it was no real surprise to learn about his controversial performance today, ive seen the footage btw and it's not the unstoppable screamer some are making it out to be, it's at a nice height for him

So what are the strengths and weaknesses of this Northampton keeper that you were banging on about, who has made half as many appearances in League Two and non-league as Long has, although he is few months older. It seem that certain fans will blame Long for every goal so perhaps for his own sake he should go.
The shot conceded today was far more difficult to save than anything conceded by Joe Hart this summer.

There were a number of mistakes from players today that could be rightly highlighted, not taking throw ins from the right spot even when told, letting the ball slip under your foot to run into touch (though Long did pass to the player, so must be his fault), crossing straight into touch, failing to beat the first man at corners, not having a meaningful shot all match and many more, but a bit harsh to decide we lost one nil so must be down to Long to a good shot especially if not having seen it.

If we can get a better keeper then fine, by all means do so, but I haven't seen any viable names so far that we can afford and I am concerned we might actually get a worse one just to satisfy a few fans.

Howard was the other keeper today. The fact he didn't concede doesn't mean he is suddenly the better player, and Wilder must also think that else he would have been retained and been in our net.

Well, you're not talking about me here, I've had a car full today and had to pick them up and get them all looking at the positives, like a more mobile midfield, and a more attacking ethic, we were never out of that game till the final whistle, the cheer that went up from them on the whistle told you everything.. Nobody around me moaned, not for a second, we clapped them off... So how are we shit fans? I don't get it...
