Yes too true Bill, Adkins has mentioned lack of mental toughness to cope with the pressure cooker atmosphere at the Lane.Its a common theme all our recent managers have said similar but none have solved the problem.Adkins is charged with job now,I do understand the need for experienced players but that doasnt stop us getting players with pace and a hunger for success.In my opinion
Adkins is after that kind of player and I fully agree with him to keep
his powder dry until he can bring in
( as he says) the right ones.We have too often opted for 2nd best let's see if he managers it.Still all to play for this season

Agree - and keep on reiterating ... Adkins is not the problem. Player capability is. Not their fault either, regardless of people's expectations, you can't polish turds. If they are giving their all (and in some cases, they are) but aren't at the required standard, what can we do? Thrashing them won't make them better. The players we had that hold the key to us getting out of this division have been sold. The onlyw ay we can sort that is to clear out those who aren't good enough and buy players above this league's standard, and if we get promotion continue to buy and develop players above the standard.

Say we brought in 2 loans from PL clubs, (which you'd imagine) how many then could we loan from Championship/forgein clubs?

As we're skint I'd like to look at a few loans from Leeds/Leicester/Saints which wouldn't command transfer fees.

Allowed 5 in the matchday squad total so could have 3 foreign loans

Regarding being championship clubs or Prem clubs I believe it doesn't matter, it's still 2 incoming from other clubs registered in the English football association.

Where Is the first bit from? The PL wording seems quite open. Here is a list of rules but if they’re from abroad you can have as many as you want pretty much what it says

Makes no odds if they are Prem or championship.
4 over the season (if the first two went back)

No, two from England, any from elsewhere:-

Under the rules in the Premier League Handbook 2022/23 (Download PDF, size: 16MB), there are restrictions on how many players Premier League clubs can loan from other Premier League/English clubs.

They are:
- Premier League clubs may not register more than two players on loan at any one time.

loans from a club in membership of another National Association do not count towards the above quotas.

Seem to remember Fulham a few seasons ago in EPL had any number of foreign players on loan?

The last few posts seem to say therefore we can have max of 2 loans from any English Club at any one time and max of 4 in a season if we take 2 new loans and send original ones back. In addition wd can have as many loans as we like from Foreign clubs but can only have a max of 5 loan players in the matchday squad.

The max of 4 loans throughout the season is UK based only. But only 2 at any one time. (So could loan 2 send them back, then loan 2 more for instance)

Theoretically you could have unlimited foreign loans, however maximum of a Total of 5 loan players in matchday squad so would make little sense having more than 3 foreign loans.

Think leeds had about 8 loan players from all around the world in relegation season around 2004, wonder if we're hoping to get close to that.

Said it in another thread but I wouldn't mind attempting to loan Duk from Aberdeen with an obligation to buy based on if stay up, scores x goals and plays x% of games.

In the EPL Clubs have a nominated squad of 25 players and for a match have 11 players starting and can have up to 9 players on the bench. This is a total of 20 players nominated in the match day squad of which no more than 5 can be loanees. So there is still sense in having more than a total of 5 loan players in the squad.
