Transfer fee: £10m
10 starts for Liverpool: + £3m
10 goals for Liverpool: + £5m
50 starts for Liverpool: + £7m
50 goals for Liverpool: + £10m
1 start for England: + £1m
10 goals for England: +£5m

Sell on clause: 20%

Just some rough numbers thrown in there, but you get the idea.

The above would mean Liverpool would end up paying about £45m for a hugely successful player, about the same as the Jota deal. If he doesn't do well, it'll be much less.
Extremely logical thinking.
We gave DCL away for £1m + he's become a £50m England international which kind of deal the Prince said in his interview on Blades Way that we will NEVER do again

A bit annoyed that a club like Liverpool are trying to turn a players head through judicious use of media rumours, just like they did with Davies from PNE.
Davies is a useful player who seems to have adapted well to our new, old system, but I think fans can tell his heart doesn’t seem to be in it.
I hope the same thing does not happen to a young striker like Jebbinson.

Sorry i was being facetious.....the brilliantly run team we support sold Aaron Ramsdale for around £1 million to Bournemouth and bought him back shortly afterwards for £20 million
It wasn't a year later as you said or even shortly afterwards .
It was three seasons later after he had played a full season of Premier league football ,we sold him because we were broke and bought him back because we could but him back for a quarter of the price other clubs would have to pay

It sounds like everyone wants him - but for Liverpool, as he is clearly better than Brewster the price will need to reflect that, I would say £35m plus add ons
I don’t think he is obviously better than Brewster.
He may be in the future but I think both will be good, so let’s keep them.

Fine if Liverpool want him, £50 mill plus add ones or trot on. Fed up of big clubs exploiting the academies if clubs like ours!
Many clubs rely on bigger clubs buying their academy players in order to exist.

The word from my Arsenal colleagues at work is that they’re buying DCL in January, do we have a sell on clause even?

Gosh Soz, time flies when you reach my age.
As you are a stickler for facts, i don't believe other clubs would have paid 4 x £18.5 million as you suggest.

No I guess they wouldn't but
A) I didn't say that and
B ) we didn't pay that

True, but it becomes self perpetuating that the big clubs Hoover up the talent whilst clubs like ours pay off the short term debt and struggle to progress.

The way the rules changed around academy players it skewed the playing field even further in a completely unfair way.

When a rumour gets posted in the wrong forum.... and then a rumour of a completely different player gets posted in that wrong thread sitting in the wrong forum... 🙈

He meant we’ll never sell DCL for £1m again, he’s right

He'll go. Possibly not to Liverpool, more like a mid PL club and for 'undisclosed', meaning 'peanuts'.

The more he is not playing for us also, the less the opprobrium fired at the board for their stupidity. See also that chap who is playing overseas who we own but whose name we've forgotten because its never appeared on the back on a Blades shirt.

pommpey
Yes Pompey , of course he'll go , if he's on the way to becoming the next Briane Deane.
The question is , how far along that path is he ? And at what stage will the club cash in (out) ?
I'm not quite as pessimistic as you on this one (though I am normally on most things).
I hang my hat on the Prince's specific reference to DCL when he was interviewed on Blades Way ... he was ridiculing that deal + said it would never happen again on his watch.
Now although we've "seen it all before" at the Lane , surely a businessman holding an asset which could feasibly bring him £50m in a few years time , will not sell it for a song or even to fix a leaking hole in the roof ?
Our accounts are usually published at this time of year , so we can all examine the bomb crater left by Bettis/Wilder in our finances.
But short of being threatened by administration , I can't see us prematurely selling the very type of player which our "long term plan" depends on developing into a mature big-bucks player.
If they do sell him without ever having blooded him in or first team , that'll be me done with dem Blades , because I'm at the point where I can't tolerate any more incompetence or bullshit by the club.

If we have to do anything in terms of selling, then keep Jebbo and sell Coulibaly

If hecky has to the trim the squad, we may need juniors like Brunt/Lopata/jebbo for full members of the squad next season.

We've got lots of legacy CW players that need moving on, some that may very well have played for the first team this season.

This is how a club starts again - with a decent first 11, a number of squad players capable of playing 10-15 games a season and bring in a few youngsters, give them their chance and see what develops - ie: Ndiaye and how he has developed this season.

Our owners have just publicly committed to a policy of "grown your own players".
Not a policy of "sell them as a seedling before they even sprouted".
If we sell Jebbison prematurely , those owners will be publicly humiliated + suffer a terrible backlash from fans.
The disconnect was growing under Slav - they've tried to repair it with Hecky - sell Jebbo + Le Petit Prince will reap the whirlwind
This is exactly what's going to happen and did they say they wouldn't sell?
If we have a massive defecit and no money how are we gunna raise income short term? This is exactly why heckys in, just wait till we start selling and the usual excuses start

We think we’re holding the cards but when Arsenal came calling for Ramsdale he downed tools as did Maguire if a player is ‘tapped up’ by a big club who offers them the chance to become very rich overnight then it’s not the owners that make the choice it’s hopefully up to them to get the best deal for the club.

This is classic Blades, not good enough for us but good enough for a champions league side.
Liverpool would develop him over a period of time and probably send him out on loan for a season or two. Pretty much as we are doing.
