Leroy Lita

Bristol City shipped him out because he was trouble, ask the bouncers in the Bristol night clubs. Coppell couldn't handle him so got rid. God knows what he found to do in the wilds of Norfolk. Is he the right guy for the dressing room? or can we rely on Morgs to sort him out quickly. One way or the other it would be interesting to see what happens if he does come. Look out Sheffield clubs & pubs!

to be fair, if he starts acting like that in the clubs and pubs in sheffield he's likely to get torn a new one :D

Im seriously in 2 minds about this....on one hand he his capable of getting us into the play-offs minimum. But, if had come to us in January, when an offer was accepted I think we would have had a better chance of beating Burnley.

So if we weren't good enough in January, whats changed since then?

The money situation
If he had come direct to us in Jan there would have been a transfer fee and he would have got less.
Now he will get a signing on fee and it all goes to him and his agent

There was no issue as to if we were good enough or not, the issue was that he was still under contract with reading. He was advised by his agent that in the summer when he was a "free" agent he would collect all the signing on fees as there wouldnt be a fee to Reading.

So basically he was being a greedy guts.

Also bear in mind that he isn't the sharpest tool in the box ;)

What his agent says, he'll no doubt follow without question.

I think we'll definately see a striker in sooner rather than later, unless we are going to use the new wingers up top a little more.

Can't see Sharp being a blades player at the start of the season either, unless he refuses to sign for someone.

Im inclined to agree with this, potentially a season loan to someone loke doncaster may be on the cards.

On a seperate note, and working on the basis that we do sign Lita, that would be 3 strikers (Ward, Evans & Lita) with pace. Would this then mean that Hendo would be a partner to one of these or do we expect Hendo to be off too?

Personally i would like to see Hendo with Ward and Evans with the two pacey players working off him. However this then means that we would have to play a 4-3-3 formation, and with the amount of midfielders we are bringing this may mean that we have a number of players bench warming.

What do you think?

This is going to sound contradictive but,

I really prefer it when we play with proper wingers, pace down wings and lots of crosses.

BUT I don't rate Hendo at all, our supposed big target man.

I would much rather have 2 pacey strikers who actually jump to try and win headers rather than just hoping it comes to their head - a la Hendo.

What is eveyones view on Henderson?

Probably won't be a particularly popular opinion but I quite rate Henderson. His work-rate is very good and his hold-up play. I think he gets buffeted around far more than the referees should EVER allow - a bit of a vicious circle because he complains like mad and ends up annoying the refs making him less likely to get the decisions. Regardless, I think he's a decent enough target man for this level. He's no Rob Hulse, no Jon Stead and no James Beattie, though. But that's not his fault, it's just that we're a Championship club now with a Championship budget. :(

All this talk about strikers though, when we have just spent £3million on Evans, already have Henderson and Ward, seems a little off considering we are short at the back and still no replacement for Kenny. We're sorted in midfield now I think, well we have plenty of players anyway....but our season could start with these choices....

Strikers - Evans, Ward, Hendo, Robertson, Sharp (doubtful)

Central Defenders - Morgan, Killa, Bromby

GK - Bennett, Harber (Presuming Kenny is banned)

- I'd say strikers are our strongest, or at least most covered. A suspension for Morgan (inevitable) and a slight knock to Killa...and we're left with Bromby?? hmmm

Not forgetting we only have, an injured Naysmith, Taylor & Walker for LB/RB..

Anymore news on this?

I've heard a rumour he's signing today. Hope this is true. Then we could have 2 good partnerships.

Lita & Ward
Hendo & Evans.

We did that the season that we got promoted. Kabba & Ship, Akinbadbuy & Webber.

The future looks rosy in my eyes if Lita signs.

We are apparently discussing the add on terms with him at the moment.

Superb News

Lets hope KB can play a style of football to suit these new players

I think we've found the Sheff-Utd.co.uk equivalent of BU's lendegoey. Ladies and Gentlemen....I give you.....ROBBIE! :D

According to SSN:

10.50 Leicester City chairman Milan Mandaric has confirmed the club are hoping to sign a new striker, with Leroy Lita having been linked with a move to the Walkers Stadium.

Also Warnock wants C(rap) Beattie!

Regardless of SSN and whether or not he's not too bright, I would think the two things he wants are money and a chance to get back in the Prem. So, even if they had mountains of cash couldn't see him going to Barnsley, i.e., I would be surprised to see him end up at Leicester - Boro would be more likely.

Has there been any further word on this? Or has he snubbed us again in favour of Milan Manderic's money?

Don't think he'll be in any rush, or rather his agent will be in no rush (Don't think the player has got the sense to come in out of the rain, let alone negotiate a contract). There are no doubt offers on the table and he can hold on for a bit longer and see if anything better is offered before the deadline!

He is just holding out and seeing what will pay him the most.

Although its not long til the season starts so he cant wait too long as other clubs will just give up waiting for him and look for someone else.

Well.... if he stays a free agent and someone gets off to a poor start, they may well put in a daft contract for him.
