Leroy Lita

Spoffing a big signing-on fee and no doubt big wages to a stroppy-knickered brat is about right for Middlesboro. And think who was the last manager they had who signed loads of players and still went up and down like a bride's nightie............

I'm not too upset about him not signing for us, we weren't good enough for him or his agent in January so why should we be good enough for him now? Lita's loss not ours.

No player is bigger than Sheffield United FC!

With the wingers we have I think Lita might have had some success with the Blade, but given his actaul performance over the last couple of years I'm not sure Boro will see 'free' as having been a good deal. That said, I still think we are a striker short as Sharp continues to struggle.

I agree with you totally there. To make our squad at the best it should be, i think we just need 1 more striker and 1 more CB for cover.

I can't make my mind up about Lita, he has scored in the past but what I can't get from my mind is why there was, seemingly, little or no interest from the premiership?

A very apt observation and, when you consider the fact that he has only featured sporadically for Reading throughout his time with them and the fact that they have let his contract expire, it seems very likely to me that the he is a disruptive influence in the dressing room.

I agree too. I don't think we'll necessarily miss Lita too much, but I am disappointed that with only four days to go until our opening match, we've got very limited options up front.

Sod's law will dictate that Lita will score the winner against us on Friday.

The article could also have been titled "Stroppy-Knickered Greedy Thicko Chooses Cash Over Class." It's all relative. He can't be that good or he'd have had Premier League teams after him.

I dont think our bribe of a Robin Reliant was ever going to win him over.

It really is his loss. Middlesbrough is a complete and utter shithole. Recently (and rightly) voted the worst place to live in the country.

A recent United Nations report* on the 5 worst places in the world to live produced the following list:

5. Mogadishu
4. Ramallah
3. Kabul
2. Harare
1. Middlesbrough

So there you have it, both Kirstie and Phil and the United Nations all say Middlesbrough is a dump.

* I couldn't find a link to the report, partly because I didn't look and partly because I made it up

We always seem to lose out when it’s a race for a striker.
Any one remember a Colombian we were going to sign and he went to Middlesbrough last minute.
Almost sure it was Middlesbrough any how can’t have been that good if I can’t remember his name.
Let’s just hope history repeats it’s self.

Not getting a look in at Swansea still. Got to be better than Paynter even with his pig connections and the fact he turned us down before.

I've done a quick background check:

On 30 August 2006, Lita was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm in Bristol on 27 August,[44] but on 18 September 2006 the complaint was withdrawn and police confirmed that no further action would be taken.

Looks like he's been arrested, so he can play for us.
