Apparently, Lita has signed for £900k. This would be a great signing in my opinion.

Just had a text..............he's a BLADE !
I have to wonder if the only deal this is good for is the directors.
£1m out for Lita but £4m allegedly in for Beattie = £3m profit for the club and thus £x for the directors if we don't spend further.
Nice little recession beater!
Question is, if this is the way it does pan out, can Lita outclass Beattie? Personally, I don't think so. The pace is welcome but I really question the netting ability. As I said elsewhere, hes on a good run at the moment but his long term stats are far less impressive.

Reading FC said:Lita not joining Sheffield United

Reading Football Club have confirmed that striker Leroy Lita will not be joining Sheffield United.
Following the sale of James Beattie, the Blades reported that they had lodged a bid for Lita.
But in fact the striker had already rejected the offer, prior to the Yorkshire club's statement, and instead pledged his future to Reading.
Director of Football Nick Hammond confirmed, "We did receive a private offer from Sheffield United for Leroy Lita last week.
"We always try to be open with our players regarding bids officially lodged by other clubs, so it was put to Leroy.
"However we were very pleased that Leroy firmly stated his desire to stay at Reading, and he will not be joining Sheffield United."
Manager Steve Coppell added, "As I have said many times, I believe that all transfer business should be conducted 100% in private so I have no further comment."
After seeing Lita score his team's fourth goal against Watford on Friday, Coppell had said, "I've got four strikers that I'm very happy with and it's a healthy, competitive situation.
"Leroy is a natural goalscorer, the best box finisher we've got. He wants to play and he's putting pressure on the boys who started."
After that victory over the Hornets, Lita had publicly spoken of his desire to aid the Royals' promotion push, saying, "After I came back from my loan at Norwich the manager and I spoke.
"He said he would love me to stay here and be part of things, and I made it clear to him I've got no plans to go anywhere.
"There's nothing in my head other than helping the lads achieve what we want for the rest of the season."
Nice & professional United!!
FFS!
Cant we even get the Website correct?
"Apps" includes injury time substitutions, does it not? I bet taking into consideration minutes on the pitch it's a damned sight better than Beattie's.litas goal scoring record career app:203, career goals:76.. Hmm everyone's banging on about him being a prolific goal scorer, make your own minds up!!!

TBH I'm so glad we didn't sign Lita.
Talk about ego's, this lad thinks he's even better than what Kabba did when he had his good spell.
He just looks like the kind of person who would cause unrest in the dressing room. lets not forget his off the field activities too.
Thank god he thinks he's better than Sheff Utd.
I know what you mean RaWW but Kabba's goals won us promotion!TBH I'm so glad we didn't sign Lita.

It's not dead and buried yet... So he still may find his way here.
There have been a lot of rumours about his attitude etc. and he supposedly thinks he's a bit of a playboy.
Have to be very careful when considering players with that sort of outlook.
