Ryan Giles allegedly available for £5m

Luton and Boro interested. I hope we’ve made the right choice with Larouchi because this is an absolute bargain if true…
Never really been sold on him defensively, always had good attacking play though.

If you really need me to spell it out, why would Utd consider spending £5m or retain any interest whatsoever season on a player whose position the club has just recruited to?
I don’t know if you need this spelling out: n o o n e h a s s a i d t h e y w o u l d.

Just that it’s potentially a bargain and probably a better option.

Could Luca Netz be the left wing back? Highly rated U21 international, only played 700mins last year for Monchengladbach.
and kept away from left back as they had the very good Bensebaini - but he's left now I think, so he's likely to play more.

If Ryan Giles is available for 5 million. That is crazy. Too late for us now, but he is an absolute assist machine. I just assumed he would have some monstrous transfer fee on his head, so not worth considering. Be a great signing for Luton, with their set piece game.

Pretty confident he'd have been a much better signing.

Wonder if we could sell Lowe for £2/3m and bring him in?
Lowe's another that is out of contract next Summer and we know his attacking output isn't going to be good enough in the PL.

I like what Luton are doing in the transfer market - recruiting upgrades but in-keeping with their style of play.

I'm sure they'll be on the end of a few tonkings but I wouldn't be surprised if they exceed most people's expectations next season and potentially even stay up - most Prem sides will hate playing against them

Why would wolves sell him for £5m? Remember we were told trafford was available for £6m a couple of weeks ago. Let's not believe every bit of bollocks that is added to the Internet.

I'd have been happy with the signing, but it's folly to mark down Larouci before a ball is kicked.

I'm pretty sure if we'd have asked 10 Blades last season who they'd rather sign - A high-mid Championship defender (eg. Lenighan/Sanderson/Naismith) or a beanpole unknown quantity called Ahmedhodzic, I am pretty sure most would go with 'experience'.

Why are you talking about a left wing back? We have 3.

100%, reyt signing for the price if true

Giles rumoured to be heading to Luton - they're doing some good business this summer (outperforming Utd in their recruitment!)
Have you wondered why Wolves are selling for such a low price despite being touted by most to be in a relegation scrap as well.

I trust Hecky and there's no guarantee Chong, Giles, Andersen or Ogbene will be any better than what we've signed.

Indeed - no guarantee of that at all. However, with them also rumoured to be in for Nakamba and a new GK, I personally feel they're currently better placed with their squad assmebly than Utd are (albeit having spent a fair bit more), considering Utd are yet to replace the Man City lads and with big Qs remaining as to whether Ndiaye and Berge will still be at the club by the time the window closes

Larouci really needs to be a good one. If not it will be an absolute shocker from the club because there's been no scarcity of decent LWBs for us to sign

I also think Luton have outperformed us and currently I'd give them a better chance than us

Agree. Think Giles was the sensible purchase but we don't seem to have the money to finance even that.

Keep hold of our better players, add 3/4 to the starting XI (LCB, CM, LCM, AM) and I think we'll be a really good match for a lot of teams.
Vital we get the next one's right though as the business so far have all been punts.
