I would love to see a…

Cooper
Clarke Anel Holding Burrows
Souza Peck
Rak-Sak O’Hare Hamer
Campbell

Reliable Subs:
Davies
Brewster
Cannon
Moore
Brooks
Robinson
Choudhury

Ampadu is not very good. Let’s get Bogle on a yellow in first 5 mins v Rak-Sak. Their keeper is going to be tested by Hamer.

Hamer + Souza to be booked is worth a tenner!
I keep forgetting about BBD!

Want nothing more than for us to do em next Monday but we’re gonna have to be on it big time. And now they’ll have the momentum off the back of a last minute victory. Twats.
Alternatively….

Far too early to be ruling Sunderland out , can all change in a fortnight, and they’re a really good side
If it was the other way round and we were 8 points off the top 2 with 13 games left would you be saying we can’t be ruled out?, I think not. Only way Sunderland overtakes us now is if we totally fall off the pace. Which we aren’t showing any signs of doing. Down to us and Burnley now for me.

It is possible but a huge ask for Sunderland to get in the automatic places.
Based on current form of the teams around them, it won't happen.
We need Burnley to have a little dip and take care of our own business.

I hope they have a reyt battle with each other and alll that comes with it.

They have Stuart Attwell for the referee.....it was going to be Craig Pawson but he was stood down for the game.

So they switched refs .The Blades should look at the ref stats that we have had as there was definitely bias against us in a few games.Maybe go back a few generations to see if any are from leeds.

We lost at home 3-0 to Hull and looked poor vs both Portsmouth and Luton and didn't deserve to win either. (Portsmouth deserved all 3pts, Luton deserved 1pt) so if you want to take that as not showing any signs of falling off the pace then I don't know what to say. Worst bit is its self inflicted when we drop the likes of Peck and O'hare. Not worried about Sunderland much now but still nervous about Burnley if we keep averaging one decent performance in 5.

These comments are a joke , there are 13 games to go not 3.
Anything can happen with still a quarter of the season left.

Very true . If we play as badly as we have done against Hull , Derby , Portsmouth and Luton then every other team in this division has every chance of beating us .

On the other hand , if we play as well as we did against Boro we have the potential to beat all of them including Leeds and Burnley .

That’s how fluid the situation is at the moment and my hope is that in the run in , the latter will be the case .

Just checked and Sunderland paid 5 million for Isidor in January after he initially joined on loan.
Not to knock Cannon, but a Isidor type striker would more suit our style than Cannon.
Half the price and twice the player
So feckin fast & strong on the ball
From abroad , see ? Chris , hello ?

Well we got what we deserved - nothing. Really poor second half display and 3 terrible substitutions.

That's us 10 points behind Leeds and 8 behind you lads which means season over as regards automatics. It's now about accumulating what we need for the play offs. 13 games of nothing really to play out.

Very disappointing display.
Commiserations
But Leeds always build momentum near the end and keep trying to the last second - we'll have to be careful about that , coz we have a habit of giving up the initiative.

But I don't think you're out of it with 39 points to play for - it's a funny old game.
You win next week and we capitulate to Leeds & Rothwell , like we did in the Autumn , and you've made up half the gap to us in one game

The current top two are tracking at 2.18 points per game. Sunderland need to makeup 0.62 points per game to catch United.

Almost zero chance of a team averaging 2.80 points per game for the rest of the season.

As mentioned above, they’d need a collapse of epic proportions to claw that back.

The top two have taken 16 and 15 points respectively from the last 6 matches.

Not saying it’s impossible but highly unlikely.

Agreed, didn't want to play for us. Made that very clear as soon as bid came in and wanted to leave. Orchestrated the move, yet you will have some nobs clapping the scum.
Not sure it’s all one way. Bogle never got a lot of credit from the fans, and I think he has shown he is a much better player than ever given credit for.
In my opinion he was only slightly worse defensively than Baldock, and much better going forward. Leeds are getting the best out of him. Hopefully though we have someone running at him all night because that’s when he struggles.

Can’t really blame him. He’d achieved everything he could with us. 3/4 of the squad had left and he had a year left on his deal.

He’s not a Sheffield United or Leeds fan. He probably just fancied something different and it’s going pretty well for him.

We don’t like players moving on because we love our club but it’s just changing jobs to them.

Going to be a massive ask to get anything from the Leeds game, they look the best team in the league and are carrying momentum and confidence. We need to be at them from the start.
Hopefully we get the line up spot on, as we know that when we get it right the performance is in us.

As for Sunderland no way are they out of it, they know now the pressure is off in a way, they are pretty much guaranteed a play off spot so can really go for it. It will take a massive swing but our recent performances (Boro apart) have been sketchy to put it mildly. We can't fall into the mindset of believing other teams are done.

Inclined to agree.

For me, that result put Leeds out of reach for Sunderland.
They now have a 10 point cushion and vastly better GD.

But if we lose to Leeds (most likely outcome given recent performances) and Sunderland beat Hull at home (also most likely), our gap to them is slashed back to 5 points with a 1/4 of the season remaining.
They're not out of it yet.

Talk about performances all you want, the fact is we have won 8 of our last 9 league games, which isn’t really indicating we are going to fall apart. People have been saying for weeks results will catch up with performances, Boro will definitely beat us and it just isn’t happening.

Especially now Sunderland have played all the top 3. No chance of any 6 pointer wins

Agree with the fact Sunderland are pretty much done, Burnley are still our main threat.
It's in our hands now.

Its not about the performance we are winning games 7 in 8 games .Burnley can keep the ball and not concede goals but also cant score them. Give me playing shite and winning the next 8 games anytime

Us and Leeds starting to pull away now. Think Sunderland are now out of the autos and Burnely draw too many games to be a real threat. Think Sunderland will finish 3rd though.

A win against Leeds would be massive, a draw would do and a loss is not such a concern now that Sunderland lost the game tonight.

Remember us being 14 points clear of Middlesborough? We went into an 8 game free fall from recollection and they got close to catching us. Fortunately we got back on track and Michael Carrick’s Middlesborough faded. But it got close.

Never say never but take note Wilder, Sunderland’s tactics were like ours vs Portsmouth and Luton

Leeds have earned no more points that is over 33 matches.

Why such an inferiority complex?

Yes they score a few against weak teams.

I don’t think their best XI is any better than ours.

Home advantage, think about ourselves and not them and fucking do ‘em.

That’s got to be the approach.

Leeds don't scare me. It's hardly like PSG are about to turn up at the Lane.

What does scare me is the way Wilder rolled over and presented his arse to every Leeds employee when we went there last time. We looked like we'd decided we weren't planning on taking any points before the ref even blew his whistle because we had zero chance. Quite possibly the most embarrassing performance this season and let's be honest there has been a couple lately.

We've the capability and squad to beat Leeds. If I've said it before I've said it a hundred times. We're a side aiming for promotion, if we're cowering at the site of Leeds then we should be sacking the promotion chase off now. Imagine the attitude when we come up against the likes of Everton nevermind Liverpool.
