With Tom Bradshaw due to sign for Millwall soon, is it possible this be a move that sees Lee Gregory joins us.

Just 2+2 making 5, but seems more plausible than Hogan due to wages.

Beaten by seconds

Might be talking absolute shite here, but I am under the impression from CW that the striker coming in would just be a loan. As Bradshaw's move will be permanent in Jan, then I don't see Gregpry being only a loan. I reckon Gregory would then be on a perm in Jan, so on that basis I don't think it's him

Apart from that, personally, I hope it isn't him.

I thought the 'waiting on a signing' was waiting on Bolasie/another winger to join Boro so we could sign Marvin Johnson. We shall see.

Well if you are I'm sure BRP will oblige with a few free samples. I for one look for your snippets from the raking of the news brings.

Not happening.

Pity TB - I seem to be in a small minority on here but I rate Gregory and think he'd do a good job for Utd, just as he's doing at Miiiiiiilllllllllllllllllll. Strange that most on here don't agree but almost every Millwall supporter thinks he's brilliant

I agree, he would be a great signing, but he is settled down there, and Millwall love him.

For the money Gregory would cost (cos Millwall won't give him away cos they rate him and would want a very decent fee for him) he ain't worth it as it stands.

We have had our opportunity to get him signed last pre season and possibly before, but it didn't happen.

I doubt it ever will now, as by the time Millwall make it financially viable to bring him in (low fee) he won't interest us anymore and we will have moved on.

Only the lucky are fated to be a Billy Sharp.

I don't believe we are signing Gregory, but if Millwall sign Bradshaw and we end up with Gregory, this place will be in meltdown and rightly so!
17 goals in 79 Championship games? Why do you think Bradshaw is what we need?

12 goals in a relegated team last season is ok and he’s a decent age.

I’m not saying Bradshaw is the answer to our striking prayers, but he would be a better option than Gregory.

He would be an ok signing and add good competition but I wouldn’t be gutted if he goes Millwall.

He made a strange comment in the interview last week, seemed to suggest people are crying out for pace but the way we play doesnt really require it

Well, he's wrong. Pace is always hugely beneficial at stages in every game regardless of the way you play.

Maybe I imagined Donaldson winning us those points away from home last season.

Agreed. It takes away a fair bit of attacking threat from our game, and especially later on when teams have a go at us and we have no "out" ball. We play our best football when we're moving it quicker, and not with 10 opposition players sat in front of us.

Well, you might disagree with what he said, but it wasn’t a “strange” comment because he explained exactly what he meant.

Of course pace is an asset but it’s becoming a bit obsessive in S2. You have to be able to play as well.

Get Ched back 2 in 2 minutes so far tonight.

However when you get speed combined with a little skill and a high level of unpredictability like Steve Kabba that can be devastating, even if it's only off the bench.

We are going to have to compromise something as a fast, fit, proven goalscorer is way out of our reach...hence our interest in Hogan I suspect.
