Leakers

Every manager in this league including CW would like to know the opposition’s team ahead of time so they can tweak their plans if necessary. Every one.
I can understand that, however that would have to be based on rock solid evidence. The thought that they are basing their team selection and setup on social media rumours is frankly ridiculous.

Its annoying and pathetic to leak confidential info.

But, would any opposition manager really trawl the internet and then change his plans based on some leak that may or may not be true?

No
It’s not beyond the realms of possibility that opposition fans go on our forum - Roy’s view from is the most popular regular thread we have (apart from the piggies thread of course) and in this day and age it’s pretty easy for that info to then make its way to staff, managers etc.

End of the day, Wilder himself has literally said you’re harming the club if you do it.

Perhaps, but it only takes a couple of weeks of people going ‘ooh that guy on Twitter did say Andre Brooks was going to start against Liverpool…we all thought that was rubbish but then he did…’

Players and staff know in the day or two before as they will focus on roles and tactics for the upcoming game.
Not really an issue at that point, until it’s discussed with friends and family. So may be disgruntled player or excited player venting their emotion, or a stupid member of the coaching team.
Either way, I don’t get the persons who then go on to put it on a public forum when a fan of the club.
Perhaps the manager needs to drill into the first team squad and staff that anything discussed stays on the training complex and isn’t discussed by anyone but him.

I know a couple of lads who get the team every game, even when Hecky was in charge. I think I know the chain and it’s all very look at me.
I certainly know of one person, a well known fan that is "in" with the club.

He deleted his Twitter account a few year back because he was "told to"

Team Selection - People don’t like leaks and leakers

Transfer Info - People LOVE leaks and glorify leakers. Actively asking for more information.

Go figure. Not the same but two sides of the same coin.

Wilder phone him up personally? If so I know him, well I know his Dad well. Was always leaking things and Wilder rang him and told him to stop and so he deleted Twitter. That’s what I was told.

Pretty sure leaking transfer rumours before deals are done also hurts our club.
Perhaps we could all spend our time better than constantly refreshing S24SU. I know I could!
The need to know the latest info is palpable though.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's Wit.
But it’s come from Wilder if it’s Wit so he’s part of his own problem.

There is no good that can come from players or managers telling their mates the team. It literally harms them. Fans will always gossip and love a bit of inside info, hence why we have a rumours section on here! In my opinion fans shouldn’t be blamed the original source should.

It's not that Mike fella that supposedly got rich of a fictional transfer betting site, or whatever it was?

Hopefully this crack down, long overdue, will extend to transfer rumours and an accountant in Spain.

Agree with that happening but if any manager changes their plans due to info written/ leaked on a fan forum then they are so stupidly gullible it’s incredible and laughable.

Think Wilder js unhappy about the principle of leaking news, don’t think leaking line ups is currently an issue however it can build and lead to a damaging situation regards transfer targets, player bust ups/ unrest, fan instability etc

So Wilder is wise to nip all this kind of stuff in the bud before it grows into something potentially damaging.

It's not the same at all.
Football Agents are drumming up interest in their clients as much as possible. It's in their interests for things to be leaked to the media, to create a bidding war etc. It's in the selling clubs interests also.
A transfer rumour leak will have little to no impact on outcome.

A team selection obviously can.
