when was the last one before last night? it seems so long ago

I told my cousin earlier in the day yesterday that I could feel another Coventry coming on. That was a last minute goal, albeit 90th minute.

In the long distant past, United were 2-0 down at QPR with only a minute to go, and drew 2-2 - I'm sure that Ted Hemsley scored one of them.

DARREN?

13/3/71. Hemsley and Woodward (pen).

We had a similar situation at Northampto on 3/11/81 - 1-0 down with about 5 mins to go and we won 2-1 with 2 from Trusson.

Didn't we also do that vs Wigan with 2 late Tony, Tony, Tony Kenworthy goals to get a 2-2 draw? Soccerbase would suggest that this was Sep 24th 1983 in Div 3 if my memory is right about the game!

Ah yes. That was an interesting game. We were absolutely shit and Wigan were 2-0 up with about a couple of mins to go. Edwards then got one back and it literally seemed like the ref was going to keep on playing injury time until we equalised. Kenworthy eventually getting it with a header from a corner in what seemed like about the 8th minute of added time.

Two very late goals deep in added time turned out costing us very near:

9/8/08 - Kevin Phillips winner for Birmingham to give them a 1-0 win. Had that ended 0-0 and all results stayed the same, we would have got automatic promotion.

22/10/11: Some bloke getting one for Orient to give them a 1-1 draw after Simonsen mesed up. Had we won that game we would have gone into the last game of the season ahead of Wednesday and would almost certainly have gone up.

What about that amazing match v Leeds when Jags scored late on with that thunderbolt from outside the penalty area, and Nuddy won it in time added on?

I don't have the details. When was it?

Let's not forget jags' 35-yard injury time winner against middlesbrough in 2006 either.

Away game against Cov sometime or other. 2-0 down; Gareth Taylor got two late on including an injury time equaliser.

Cue Stattos.

What about Unsworth against Hull City in 2006 to win the match 3-2 after we threw away a two goal lead. That must have been in added on time.

Kitson equalised vey late in the 2-2 draw at Doncaster on New Year's Day last year. That was a good one.

It felt like a win because we had been losing 2-0 until quite late on.

I've just checked up on this.

Some bloke called Billy Paynter opened the scoring for Doncaster with a pen.

Our goals were courtesy of Blackman ('80 pen) and Kitson ('89).

There was also the match at Doncaster in March 2010 when Blackwell was public enemy #1 and was having death threats and paedophile chants aimed at him.

James Harper equalised in the 88th minute and we drew 1-1.

Under Warnock i seem to remember that was one of our strong points. We just didnt know when we were beaten.

Maybe that was down to the strong fitness regime of Tony Daley?

I forgot about the Orient game. If I recall correctly, Simonsen had been getting loads of stick from the fans and was dropped after his Orient balls up. Long then cam in against MK at home when we won 2-1. We then played Exeter and Long had a nightmare. We drew 4-4 and Simonsen came back in.

No it was Woodward and Hemsley (pen)

Good call that Silent. I thought when i read the original post that it was Ted that scored. I also think the following week we beat Blackburn 4-0 at BDTBL and Ted missed a penalty. I thought at the time how important it was for our promtion push that if he was to miss a pen then it was better in a game that we were going to win easily rather than one when it was necessary to rescue a point.
