Fuck Sunderland.

They ain’t my cup of tea, they act like they’ve never left the north east before (same with the geordies).

It’s like the England fan mentality where it’s as if they need to take over the host town/city and be as loud and annoying as possible.

No problem with anyone having a good time, it just doesn’t need to be so in your face.

Obviously they aren’t all like that and it’s just my opinion. It’s just not for me

Absolutely classless the ones I encountered after the game. I know it’s “not all fans” but it totally coloured my view of them. I hope they get smashed next year and I’ll enjoy every moment. Not that I’m bitter 😂.
We ran in to a couple of classless twats

Nowt bad to say about the Mackems we bumped into.
O’Neills next to Watford Junction was our first encounter - all fun & taking the piss with their hard-boiled eggs. One bloke even very politely offers me a smoke bomb 🤣
Train down to Wembley, one of ‘em shook hands with every Blade he could see.
After the match, there was a small number in the queue at Wembley Central & they were chatty & pleasant. One of ‘em said that save in the first 2 mins from Moore’s header was crucial for them.
There were a few pissed up gobby ones on the walk back to Wembley Central who clearly hadn’t been to the game but they soon shut up.
Always found ‘em decent sorts really & yesterday was no different.
Good luck to ‘em - they’ll certainly need it.

Had a few chats with Mackems before & after the game & they were all sound. A couple on the train said they couldn’t understand the VAR decision & they fully accept next season will probably be awful. I escaped as quick as possible to a pub in Finsbury Park- on the way back to where I live in Enfield & would you believe it there were a couple of pig fans there trying to give it the big one until they realised I wasn’t biting. Then on the train on the way back there was a women who didn’t believe we’d lost. Had to explain to her that we wear the same kit!

Having said that - I didn't want to meet any after the game, much less to have to talk and be civil with them.
I spoke to plenty of them on several occasions after the game while making my way back to Victoria Station. Shook hands and wished them well. All very civil and good-natured, as it should be.

Nice to see the majority of people had the same experience that we did as Sunderland fans.

Out of 82 thousand people and those who didn’t have tickets, we only saw one blades fan being a knob screaming Mackem bastards at a group that clearly had 2 kids with them.
We also only saw one Sunderland fan being a knob screaming get in at any blade fan he could see, man woman or child. He sharp stopped when another Sunderland fan who I can only describe as a cross between the big show and meatloaf with shovels for hands grabbed him by the throat and told him to pack it in or he would ‘bounce him off every wall in the station’

The group I went with stayed in Watford for 2 nights as we all had kids with us. The Utd fans we met in Oneils before and after were all sound.
Both working class fan who love their club.

Fair play to Sunderland fans, they didn't rub out noses in it and they were respectful to that after the match. I wish them well next season, much more so than Leeds but saying that Leeds will always have that edge to them, it's their identity in part.

Coincidentally I was in Newcastle couple weeks ago so this isn't specific to the football fans - the Geordies are just bloody loud people. Everyone you come across almost screams conversations at you. Nevermind having them singing footy songs.

I don't particularly feel any negativity towards them, they showed up, made the noise (although they were quiet I thought for quite a bit) and as lots on here have said the ones they met tended to be nice people. That was a game with the right result, no arguments from me there.

Be gracious, congratulate their win, wish them well. Fair play to them.

Just wondering if peoples views have changed since I last posted 'Fuck Sunderland.? Thought I was gonna get crucified by the hierarchy on here when I posted it last week.
A Sunderland fan was shouting at my children and I after the game. He was on his phone saying “oh here’s some blades now f**** the blades, haha kids are here too f**ck the blades” laughing and jeering us.. we just walking on by.
But behind us blades fans told him to shut up and he got punched and his phone punched out of his hand..
did anyone see that? I hope his phone is smashed 🤣🤣🤣

Sunderland had their fair share of nobs out, some pushing and barging to the front of tube queues who got told in no uncertain terms. Every club has them, some more than others, especially when you have a big fan base, nothing new really. It was another good day other than the result, this has been said about many Blades away days since time began.

Bullshit.

Who said owt about the fans? I said 'Fuck Sunderland.' The team that just beat us in the play-off final.

No i won't go down that route Sunderland fans were class unlike Burnley and Huddersfield fans.

Burnley fans were giving it as if they were prime Barcelona.

Huddersfield fans were just utter wankers trying to pick fights with us all over Wembley before and after the game and it didn't end well for them.

The utter wankers tried taunting Blades fans about Ched Evans before and after and it was at that point they knew they had f* cked up.

Sunderland fans that i spoke too before and after were all genuine down to earth people no airs and graces with them.

The polar opposite of Burnley and Huddersfield fans.

They took the game to us in the second half and got their fans reight behind them and reaped the rewards.

You would have thought an experienced manager like Wilder would have learned that but obviously not.

Good luck to Sunderland in the Premier League i hope they stuff Leeds for a start UTB.

We were drinking with them before the game & had a good laugh & piss take with them ..similar working class fan base as us & no issues whatsoever… good look to them next season ⚔️

Why are you on our board, whats it got to do with you, are you bored on a bank holiday, is school out today?
I don't know a single Sunderland fan that has any ill-wishes against Sheffield United. To the contrary, we actually like you lot.

So to say you met a fan that was shouting at children after we'd just secured promotion to the PL is utter nonsense and you know it.

I joined to say sorry for your loss, and I'm absolutely certain that most, if not all, Sunderland fans feel exactly the same way.

No idea why you are on our board mate. Maybe in a few weeks , but right now you are not welcome. We wish you guys well - but we are still hurting big time. No other club knows what it is like to support a team that has not won a final of any kind for over 100 years, 10 failed play off talents, 8 consecutive defeats at Wembley ….
Honestly - enjoy your own success in your own space.

I've worked with a couple of mardy mackems in the past but I bear the club and fans no ill will. Good club, great fan base and good luck to them next year. Would much rather see Sunderland in the top flight than boring Burnley. Plus their home shirt from this season is a thing of beauty.

I watched on Saturday, surprised that Patrick Roberts was only a substitute.
When he came on, I thought he made the difference in your team winning
rather than the side that started at 15.01.

Will he be playing in the EPL for you or will he be deemed surplus to requirements?

No issue with Sunderland, they spied an opportunity to win the semis and final despite not playing good. We could learn from this rather than slag them off?

Their fans were brilliant before during and after the game.

Good luck to them in the prem.

You're more than welcome on this board contrary to other posts mate, go smash the PL fella and enjoy!!!

A few gobshites on wembley way immediately after the game, the fact they were outside goading rather than inside celebrating says a lot about that minority. At wembley park some were getting off the tube, clearly not been to the game, just pissed/coked up and came over looking for trouble, would be surprised if they didnt find it. But 99% seemed genuinely decent, and although their in your face style is a bit annoying, congratulations and good luck to Sunderland next season.

Yeah some were coming out the ground even well before their players had celebrated just to goad blades. Absolute dickheads and for that reason alone I will enjoy Newcastle spanking them

I dunno mate, sounds quite feasible, it’s the way some fans are, at every club (look at the clowns from Burnley taunting our players instead of celebrating with their own). Before the game I thought the atmosphere was great. I WAS sorely tempted to boot a young lad up the arse as he was singing “you couldn’t sell all your tickets”, but he was too young to realise how stupid he sounded, and also I don’t agree with violence as a solution to anything (although he really looked like he needed a boot up the arse).
After the game I legged it and happily only saw one absolutely smashed Sunderland fan outside the ground staggering about taunting Utd fans. I had no desire to exchange pleasantries of any kind at that stage!
Good luck to you next season, i hope you do stay up and break this cycle. I presume your club will be giving back any parachute payments of you come down as I know how much it upset your fan base all season that we had them!
