For me Walker does have a decision to make.

He's always said that he wants to end his career with us, but does he want to give us a season at 37 when his legs may have gone and l, god knows what division we'll be in...

Or...

Doe he come now with guaranteed PL football when he's still the best in the World?

If he comes now, there's a risk he could get relegated and then he'll probably go back on his word and leave for a PL club again.

I think he'll sign for free if we stay up

Could write himself into blades folklore. Give him what he wants, make him captain, let him get his wanger out when he wants. Just gerridone.

We sold him to Tottenham and he didnt want to go
Somebody must have persuaded him then.
I think slavery was abolished some time ago!
"While teams have to come to an agreement on the financial aspects of a transfer, only the player himself can decide whether to move or not. He might already want to move, but he has the power to decline a transfer as well.
Nobody can force a player to sign a contract that he absolutely doesn't want to, even if the selling club is able to be somewhat persuasive by telling him he won't be involved in the team if he stays."

(See Section: The Player)

He's literally the best right back in the world is he not? I hope to god he loves us as much as i do but even then why the fuck would City just let him leave on a free when 95% of teams in Europe would pay a fee for him?!

I’m not ruling out that “also attracting interest from Saudi Arabia” is another reference to us. Get yer hands in yer pockets Abdooller, etc.
What about walker saying to the Saudis BOGOF 🤔ie.I'll sign for ya and play for nowt but you've got too buy the Blades🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

So, let me get this straight:

Walker apparently is the best right back in the world (I don't agree but most lists would have him top 5 or 10)
He's just won the treble including the Champions League
He earns something lie £175k per week
He has one year left on his contract.

He is going to write off £8 million
He's going to write off playing in Europe
Man City are going to just let the best right back in the world leave for free
He's going to swap challenging for the treble again for a relegation battle with us

Because he's a fan?

Let's not forget he likes to get his cock out in public as well. Man City have people to make that go away, we don't.

Correct

Mainly because he's a lad from Heeley, he started with us, his contract with Man C ends in 2024 and he himself mentioned a short time ago that he'd like to finish his career here whilst he could still run around - IF WE"D HAVE HIM.
Basically, he just seems to be one of the good guys although that may not be easy to believe about a footballer.

Probably not but without Hope or the ability to get excited ( even at the faintest of possibilities) then what is life ? And is it a life worth living ?

I say not and urge you to drag yourself from satans vagina and smell the roses of gods creation so that you too sir can dare to hope and be excited about something other than misery and being misreable fanny

Don’t want to be pedantic but he’s from Sharrow.

If we somehow pulled this off, we'd stay up easy
i think your probably right along with 4 or 5 more astute signings we would have a great chance of staying up i think were interested in 3 city players walker doyle and palmer no chance of mcatee coming back i think city will sell silva and have mcatee as back up to foden and mahrez

Is there another way of financing his arrival?
I do t see any possibility of this coming off under a regular method of financing it….however there are other ways.

Club is currently worth what…£140m….the bigger it gets the more it’s worth.

Offer Walker a salary as a director…5% of the club as signing in fee, and pay him a salary as a club employee?
Takes him off the playing budget, incentivises him to push for success and the club also has a fan as part owner.

He will have debts no doubt, mortgages etc…but gaining a percentage of such a huge asset with no responsibility for the subsidising and running of the club while playing might be a way to get it done.
Then when he retires he can look to become part of the future of the club.
Perhaps in DOF roles…coaching….whatever.

Just a thought, not sure it could be done so simply but I’m sure something could be worked out.

Walker, Anel & Coady in the back line would guarantee a few points across the season IMO

I'm a lad from arbourthorne, I have no desire to return to their out of a sense of nostalgia, I'll reflect happily about my time there and not slag the place off cos it's where I came from, but saying something and then actually going back there are two different things.

I'd love it if he did decide to come back here, I just can't see it. Maybe after this season, but he's still one of the best in the world and can demand the wage and prestige of playing in Europe. He'd be crazy to come back to us.

Surprising it's hit the mainstream media to be honest.

We've obviously been saying it on here for years, but for it to actually hit the media is exciting 🫰

I always thought he'd leave if he wins the Champions League, but i forgot about the UEFA Super Cup (which is in August) and FIFA World Club Cup, which isn't until December.

You'd think he wants those feathers in his cap before moving on.
Aren't they just the 'Charity Shield' equivalents for European teams though?!

To all those people talking about him still being an asset of value to City etc. etc.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but if next season is his last season under contract with City (i.e. his contract expires July 1st 2024), then doesn't that mean he's free to leave on a Bosman at Xmas and sign a pre-contract agreement?

City would therefore only have THIS transfer window to actually realise a return on him then - assuming Walker himself would agree to sign for any of the competitor clubs, and why would City allow (arguably) one to the top-5 world RBs go to another UCL-qualified club to play against them? Ditto for other EPL teams that might be challenging them?

If he's not in Pep's plans at City, keeping him on contract and loaning him out to us would be a way to minimise their costs while also preventing him being a major thorn in their sides at the higher echelons at which they compete, compared to us.

He's not doing off to Saudi or to us when the euros are next summer and he is paid 8 million a year to stay at Manchester city.

He's buying us next summer.
