Jags was 37/38 in his 2nd spell with us in the Premier League and Walker has been at the pinnacle of fitness in a career at the very top level. I think we forget how recent he was a Champions League player, although only a friendly he played for England a year ago against Senegal.

There are plenty of players that travel from Liverpool / Manchester each day to train, so i don't think even driving it is an issue

I think so yeah, be interesting to see a project like that. It's a big season for us coming up, as it's either Wilder goes during or post season or he gets an additional contract, and if it's the latter it must be by agreement that he is still developing the squad. When his contract comes to a natural end, even a mid-table finish would be ideal to make the changes needed. Not saying it needs to be internal but Del Geary has been at the club coaching/U18s/academy manager for over 10 years and has been with us since 2004, so not exactly a person that doesn't know the culture of the club and definitely one to consider as either Head coach or possibly Sporting Director

Here is a bonkers idea, not saying it should happen but throwing it out there, say he can't get released from his Burnley contract and they want a fee that we can't afford to be paying. Wilder is in his last year of his contract, could we see Walker signing on as a player/coach at the age of 37, 27/28 season? Then would be the perfect time to shuffle the set-up to a more "modern approach" bringing in a DoF, alongside a younger head coach, Walker as player/coach even at the age of 37 I think we could get at least a 1/2 season worth of minutes out of him. I have read online although not at source about this, does it need to be both parties (Burnley and Kyle) agreeing to it or can Kyle force the issue because it's there even if Burnley want to keep him?

You do know he's worth over 25m quid which conservatively would make you 20 k a week interest

I actually thought Declan Rice offered something different in that brief cameo there. Powerful, direct runs from deep and he's got a great delivery on him.

I don't like the balance of midfield with him & Anderson in there. I'd be intrigued to see how Anderson & Mainoo would look together or even.. (gulp).. Henderson with Anderson a little further forward.

In my opinion, Tuchel had an absolute stinker with our squad selection. It's clear as day that TAA (Quansah), Maguire (Burn), Wharton (Henderson) and Palmer (Eze) would all have something more to offer than the players that went ahead of them.
I'd go as far to say, you could have made a strong case for all 4 of them to be in the XI tonight (it'd be pushing it a bit but ..)

rice and anderson are too similar to play in the same midfield i would have eze in there with one of them possibly anderson because i think the rice/saka combination down our right looked very promising

Rice playing there is similar when Gerrard played at RB for the last 10 minutes in that champions league final! Good players can play anywhere.
