Re Killa, best for all parties I think, particularly if it frees up funds for McSheffrey and maybe the return of Kyle (subject to the doom and gloom on the transfer funds thread!).

Agree to an extent, but if we spend the proceeds of our sales on the wages of Premiership loanees then we're on a downward spiral.
We could buy five more lower league "prospects" and not get another as good as Jamie Ward. But at least there's the chance of a return on investment in the medium term. Loaning McSheffrey and Naughton would be an expensive short term option.
To be honest, I imagine McSheffrey is available for a relatively small figure such as a million, so it wouldn't necessarily be an expensive short term option.
You seriously think United will spend a million pounds on a player this transfer window?
United won't spend anything on transfer fees for some time.
What is it about the latest accounts that some folk don't understand?
It's going to be short-termism for a while with the hope that by some fluke we could get up this season.
Next season, minus Killa, both Kyles and probably Naysmith, is going to be interesting.

Jeez, spending £1m on a player simply is not going to happen.
We are solvent and a lot of the money is owed to McCabe essentially by McCabe himself.
But the debt is there and he's already earmarked incoming money to pay off his own debts in the accounts.
A couple of loans there might be and Kyle N makes sense if and when Killa goes.
But we're looking at short term expediency for the timebeing.
Aren't we being a little negative here?
If we get McSheffrey and both Kyles back we will have spent next to nothing while getting a decent squad together.
IF we go up that's a bonus and quite an achievement if we don't we've spent nothing which will help our accounts.
We know we are having a difficult time financially but none of teams in our division are in a position to throw millions around. Those that are face serious consequences if they fail i.e. Forest.
Sure I'd love us to have £10 Million to spend in January but the current climate just doesn't make that possible. As above no one in this league has that kind of money to through about, the only ones spending anything will be the relegated teams.
I think that's pretty much spot on, Killa leaves and we bring those 2 in for little or no outlay (bearing in mind an improved conract for Killa was supposed to be on the table). Fans would be happy (I suspect), with those 2, McCabe would be singing about paying for McSheffrey, Blackie gets 2 more players in and we soldier on.

The squad would actually seem to be quite good comparatively to our rivals both in terms of quality and depth.
Keepers: Bunn Bennett (Paddy)
Right Back: Naughton, Walker, Del
Centre Half: Morgs, Seip, Walker (maybe one more required)
Left Back: Naysmith (???), Taylor, Stewart, Naughton
Right Mid: Walker, Wardy, Little
Center Mid: France, Monty, Willo, Harper,
Left Mid: McSheffrey, Quinny, Reid, Cresswell
Fowards: Evans, Hendo, Camara, Cresswell, Ward,
Apart from centre half which would look weak if we get an injury I think that side looks ok. But if we assume that we either have Killa or another centre half brought in as his replacement (same goes for Naysmith) I think we are pretty well covered despite spending fuck all.

This looks fairly conclusive - Newcastle as originally expected rather than Burnley though
That's from last week isn't it?
Yep, Blackie sounded last night as though he wanted 2 more and given an injury free run, or at least an average injury record, we'd cope.
He'd still be loathed to change his beloved midfield but with another option wide left and everyone fit, the 1st team squad would look OK with decent options on the bench.
