So if Freeman doesn’t find another club.... we should sign him. Isnt how premier league clubs act.
Because we are a Premier League club we aren’t allowed to re-sign Freeman as cover?

So if we don’t sign cover or a first choice if Baldock gets injured you’re happy with the options then?

Baldock gets injured and Basham gets a suspension, who is the cover?

The plan obviously isn’t to resign Freeman is it, or they would’ve already 😂

We did okay with him on the bench. So let’s hope we emulate this season. It’s not a progressive signing but if this happened for whatever reason we go again

Not in favour of him returning while there are better options out there - Cash (Forest), Bogle (Derby), Roberts (Swansea).

But if they are not available then I'd rather we not waste 6-10m on a punt when we can keep our powder dry for another 6-12 months. In that case, I'd take him back and bide my time.

He didn’t play last season, how is that a signing that makes us better. If Baldock gets injured and we are starting with Freeman we know we are in trouble. Freeman hardly played in the Championship and he lost his place.

To be honest I don’t see the need for discussion on it the chances of it happening must be 0.00001%.

He started nearly half of the games in the season we were promoted. He missed a lot of the season before (1st season back in the Championship) through a knee injury.

No way back now for KF with our new signings in place?

Don't think there ever was was there?

He's not good enough for the Prem I'm afraid. Even as back-up.

He's arguably not good enough for a top end Championship side either.

There was rumour he might be re-signed, probably bollocks.

Was quality in league one but not good enough for where we are now.
He’s been poor every time I’ve seen him play for past 2 years

Getting him to be so effective as an attacking full back was up there with Wilder's best man management achievements.

He's not afraid to improve and definitely had horses for courses in League 1. See also Simon Moore.

Still think the club should have put out a thank you statement but I presume that was done personally from Wilder. Just in case not, Keiron Freeman and Leon - thank you! Two really good players for us and all the best in the future. 10 goals plus from RWB for Freeman was an outstanding achievement and Leon was just class in that Championship season and played a part in the promotions also. Loved it when he signed and proved so many Blades fans wrong.

His turnaround under Wilder was amazing and I'll not forget his goal against Northampton on New Year's eve 2016 that took us top where we remained.

For me it's a massive GLTTL to him along with the other departed heroes - Couttsy, Jake Wright, Leon and Duffy who we owe such a lot to in getting us out of the League 1 mire.

Again flabbergasted that our released players aren't in more demand it's almost as if managers are saying, 'Who's available?'
'Well there's Clarke, Freeman and Duffy.'
'Who did they play for?'
'Sheffield United.'
'Fuck off we don't need any league one cast offs.'

None of them would get in the squad at S6.

Actually, they probably wouldn't take any of the main squad either as the PL is now a lot easier than La Liga.

I can’t see him not getting a club. Derby must be short in full backs for a start. I think there’s a few championship clubs that would benefit from signing him.

If only we could have merged his attacking output with everything else of Baldock's... we'd have had some player.

Some great memories of K Freeman, in particular the last minute winner on New Year's Eve. It triggered a post match jager binge with me & my pals in Sheff... it resulted in me being late to a party that night, not making it to midnight & being roundly bollocked the next day.

Potential question marks over his attitude at times. He seemed a moody type & would often be drawn to our more disruptive dressing room characters (pre-Wilder).

At Championship level, he never seemed to be the fittest and would tire late in games. When this happened his defensive work would suffer as he couldn't get out fast enough to close down crosses.
From memory, diagonal cross-field passes could also catch him out of position occasionally.

Going forwards, exceptional. Great finishing instincts, good for a goal and a great eye for a pass. He always seemed to play dangerous low balls into the box (often assisting Billy).
His final third decision making really is excellent (I'm hoping Bogle can provide similar).

I'd say for any side operating with wing backs at Championship level & below he'd be an asset.
As an out & out full back, bottom end Championship to high end League 1.
