He didn't look comfortable at left back, I'll agree, but thought he did ok when playing right back

Dunno about that BOSS - I thought he was excellent at left back away at Crawley. Think it depended on who he was up against - his left foot's not the best so he struggled against quick, touchline hugging wingers but did OK against slower players or those who looked to cut inside.

Exactly he looked "ok"

If there,s no place at Derby for him why should we pick up there dregs
Because if you haven't noticed, we are in league 1:rolleyes:Unfortunately at this moment in time,Derby are better than us,this meaning they can offload their fringe players down to squads like ours.

There's a right back at Championship Cardiff who wouldn't mind coming back to us. Wouldn't want their dregs though.

I thought Freeman did OK for us, especially as he was asked to play at left back most of the time.
He got a bit of a roasting from Nathan Redmond when playing for Wales U21 though.

Come on Freemans not in the same class.

I agree with you. As I said in an earlier post, for all that Freeman is relatively young, he would only be a short term signing (hopefully). He showed no signs of being good enough for the league above and the Derby fans I know have made their mind up that he'll never be good enough for them in the league they're in.

I'm pleased we haven't signed him, but hope the new kid we have got (I forget his name and can't be bothered to check) is better.

Thought he may be next in. I quite liked what I saw last season - but obviously not as good as Bray going forward.

Agreed,i liked him last year myself, but how many defenders do we actually need. The only thing i can think is that we might see a bit of Alcock at centre half because he is equally as effective playing there as he is right back.

I like Freeman and is probably more realistic than Brayford while ever we are in League One. As much as fans would love us to we wont be going out and signing players for £1m+ so I think we need to lower our expectations. Although I do still think there might be something in that Ronaldinho suggestion...........

Hope we sign him. Was impressed last year even though he was played out of position mostly. Rumour on BM that it's 350k plus add-ons

We seem overstocked with defenders and midfielders.......can we expect a few still to go...?

Remember he played on the wrong side to accommodate Brayford. Fingers crossed. :)

Defenders... probably not. Midfielder's i'd expect McGinn to go, Doyle too maybe what with Clough looking towards appointing a new captain suggests he will be used far less this season

In terms of fullbacks though we only have Alcock and Harris, with Davies and McGahey as makeshift cover. This signing gives us a potential starter at right back and cover at left back.

I can't imagine we need to offload any defenders.

I think it gives us strength in depth in defence to match what we now have in midfield. We also have some versatile players. We look a couple of good strikers short of being a very good squad, hopefully that will be addressed in the next week or so.

May feature on Thurs if it goes through in time.

Hit a stumbling block according to NC. Given Brayford is unlikely to return, Freeman might prefer being back-up in the Championship than behind Alcock & Harris with us?
