CONFIRMED kieron freeman

Been linked with the blades, worth a shot? Is he another back up player or is he going to be a starter...
 
I imagine if he signed he would start as we're not realistically going to be getting Brayford
 
He'd be a great signing and a definate starter. He really impressed me in his loan spell. He's a decent defender, but gets forward excellently. He's got pace and would be a real acquisition. Considering he played out of position for most of his loan spell and we looked very good, he would be a good catch. He'd improve the first team and slot straight in at righ back.

I have been saying the same for a little bit, always impressed by him and he's still young so only getting better. I would love to see brayford return but if he's out of our price range then I would be more than happy with Freeman. Hope we try to sign him permanent rather than loan though, we seem to make them better players for their parent clubs like Coady and Brayford.
 
Good young player for league 1 with potential and an U21 international, would be a more than decent signing even if we managed to land brayford with him being able to cover harris, as harris picks up the odd injury.

I agree with this, we're all thinking that we need a RB and striker then we're done, but we need someone to cover LB. We have versatile players, but none are likely to be comfortable dropping back on the left. I'd rather not end up using an emergency loan if Harris gets bashed in.

Seeing as Clough hasn't spoken at all about bringing in another left back could Callum McFadzean provide back up there, or is he also on his way?

Very good point bergen also i forgot that davies can also fill in there although freeman is the one we really want for all purposes
 
I would presume this means that we may stop talking to Cardiff about Brayford. However I will be delighted with Freeman. Looked a very neat and tidy footballer with bags of potential.
 
I hope this goes through. He showed he is a very capable full back and would be an acceptable alternative to the Beard. Also, he won't cost us that much in transfer fees which gives more weight to the argument of a couple of bigger 'names' coming in to add that extra quality and experience that would take us from being a top 6 to a top 2 side.

I don't think this definitely means this is the end of the pursuit for Brayford, or any other right back for that matter. As already mentioned earlier in the thread, he can cover left back as well. But he would be the only recognised right back in the squad (Unless we have a youngster coming through anyone knows about?) granted, Davies can play there, but i'd prefer another recognised right back in the squad as well.

A Derby fan told me last night that Steve McClaren said, on local radio, that after bids for Francis of Bournemouth were rejected and Andre Wisdom returned to Liverpool that Freeman was to be start as their right back next season.

Sounds implausible to me but We shall see!
 
Freeman back on as Derby have signed christie,the RB from coventry,come on cloughy go and get him now,he would be a very good addition to our squad

So that would make Freeman, possibly, McLarens third choice right back? Or is this Hyped up to push his value up? I would have thought Derby would have their new target signed before discussing season long loans for Freeman. who is, after all the same player shown the door by the brolly man.
 
If we do end up signing Freeman, I hope it is only on loan.

The Derby fans at work are quite unanimous in their view that he will never be good enough for them and whilst he was on loan with us I didn't see anything to suggest he will ever be a good Championship player. If anything, he had some shockers of games, albeit at left back, rather than right back.

In my opinion, signing Freeman would not be a good long-term signing. Yes he is youngish, but does not look good enough to play at the level we want to be playing at sooner rather than later.

I'd expect them to loan him if they get no one to buy, i have to ask why we can not afford to buy?? unless there valuation is to high.
 

Freeman looks ordinary at best.

We will just end up with another Westlake
