Kell Brook wants to fight at Bramall Lane this year

Maybe not but when I keep hearing all this and that in the media regarding Spence I just think more than one or two people are underestimating Brooks' quality.

GGG definitely got rocked, you could tell but Kell had to have the bottle to step up in the first place because mouthy cunts like Khan nearer his own natural weight wouldn't fight him.

Like I say BB, at those prices I'm on Brook all day long.

Either way, it should be a fight where both of them go for it so it should be a good un and i'm really looking forward to it.
Khan wouldn't fight him because the numbers didn't stack up. He did fight Canelo Alvarez, who's likely to be GGG's next opponent.

Maybe people are talking up Spence to make the fight more attractive or maybe Kell has had his previous opponents carefully selected and hasn't actually fought many decent Welterweights. We'll see on Saturday.

Khan is a twat who only fights for the money, whereas others fight for the belts and money.

Can't argue with your second paragraph until after Saturday. :D

Its certainly a trait of most of the elite Matchroom/Eddie Hearn fighters that their path to the top is hand picked and then they have their 'coming out fight' a la Joshua/Klitschko, Quigg/Frampton, Crolla/Linares - there's never any certainty as to who is going to win.

That's what makes this fight exciting....

Do you think Kell really thought he was going to take Golovkin's belt? Or was it for the money? The clue is the term 'professional boxing'. If they only wanted sporting success they'd stay amateur and box at the Olympics.

I don't blame any boxer for going after the money. It's an incredibly hard and disciplined life.

He dared to be great and i really believe that. It's not in his character he's a winner and i think everyone saw how much he wanted it that night. Yeah ok the injury happened and everything else but there's no doubt about it that night he came to win. It was also the fight that convinced me he was elite class just not at middleweight. It might be the case for other boxers in the sport ( naming no names) but not Kell he's in it for the glory 100%.

Looking to Saturday it's a 50/50 fight in betting terms and stylistically promises to be a very exciting match up. Kell is the superior boxer with more experience where as Spence is the up and coming hard hitting southpaw. He's very dangerous and anyone with that kind of punching power has more than a chance and is worth a bet but i just think it's too soon for him. Kell won't give him the chance to get comfortable, he'll be slipping and hitting him with those straight right counters all night. Spence to me only looks good when he's on top and has control in a fight and that's when he starts letting his big shots go and begins to work the body. I just don't think he'll get that chance unless he hurts Kell at some point. Kell's too smart and i just think he'll frustrate the hell out of him with his switch hitting and counter punching. We can talk all day about who has the best cv but in reality the Spence hype mainly comes from the way he's been finishing his opponents not necessarily the quality of them. Kell's mixed with much higher level fighters than him so a couple of devastating ko's against a 50 year old journeyman and a part time chef doesn't really mean much. It's just hype and we'll just have to wait till Saturday night to see if he can justify it.

Amir Khan has a glass jaw, so he has to think carefully before facing big hitters. He will only fight big hitters if the money is right because he realises it might be his last pay day.

Don't know about a glass jaw but he's been knocked down so many times he's got a cauliflower arse.

I like Dave Allen glad he's on the bill. I read somewhere that his Dad or uncle boxed on the Bomber Graham undercard all those those years ago. I think he said it's a pretty big deal for him too boxing at Bramall lane so it'd be nice to see him win that title in his fight. Wonder if he's a Blade? He is from round here, sort of.

He's from Donny, so he'll be a Leeds fan. :)

Good points regarding the fight in question as they both got the same money for the fight, roughly £3m to £4m if memory serves me right?

I do think Kell thought he could win though whilst at the same time thinking it would be a David and Goliath match up. Kell has a big heart, a good chin and a big punch for his natural weight.

Khan wanted most of the purse knowing full well he'd get beaten by Brook. That was never going to happen, there's still a chance they could still fight but it's only a slim one now.

Kell really has no need to fight him, he can have bigger and better fights.

Although I'd like to see Brook kick the fucking shit out of Khan. :)

Why is there a two hour gap between the Allen and Groves fights?

Thought the same myself, I want to see 3 or 4 of the fights but don't really want to have to sit through a 2 hour gap.
That's for floater fights. They chuck em in,they aren't on the bill as they are unknown and no set fight time/no guarantee they will happen. Basically, 10-15 mins after a fight finishes, the next fighters take to the ring. There's always some ring action from 5pm and maybe a floater fight after brooks fight aswell. Heres the schedule, the ones with no opponent are yet to be finalised

It looks very much like Kell will easily make the weight for this one . He weighed in at 148.2 pounds on Monday so 147 on Friday will be a piece of piss . Amazing what a top level nutritionist can do .

Weathers good , Kell's looking strong and sharp and Spencer is coming into this with real confidence , should be a cracking fight !

That is a misprint on the skybet website Eddie Hearn has said he expects the Spence / Brook ringwalks to take place at around or just after 10pm

It says on the Sky Sports Box Office page for the event that the ring walk is expected at around 10.30, not that it really matters as we'll be in the ground for about 7.30 anyway.

I've had two people from my group drop out so I've got two tickets for sale if anybody is interested!

£66 category - however for fellow blades I'll sell the pair for £120.

They're in Bramall Lane Upper, fairly central.
PM me if you're interested or for more info.

Apologies to the mods if this breaks any forum rules... Feel free to delete or edit if needed!

Still for sale :)

Absolutely buzzing for this now, Kell winning for the perfect end to the most Bladey blade year in history

Hope there's plenty of us in stands to make it a proper United atmosphere
