Kell Brook wants to fight at Bramall Lane this year

The eye will be absolutely fine . The only potential problem with it would be psychological . But after sparring with middle and super middleweights any concerns with the eye have been banished .

Points 2 and 3 that you make though are bang on the money .

Initially i thought that overall fitness could prove decisive . I had the feeling that out of the two it would be Kell that blew up in the later rounds . Now though following the weighins I don't think there's much between them .

Similar speed , both very skillfull and both possessing concussive power . When all said and done this will almost certainly come down to who wants it the most . On the face of it you'd have to conclude Erroll. Spence will want it the most BUT there's something about Kell Brook that real pressure and pain brings out . When the shit hits the fan for Kell he he will fight like a fucking bull .

I'm going for Kell , 6th round stoppage .

Accurate analysis in my opinion, apart from thinking Spence will want it more. Brook wants this more than he's ever wanted anything (except the dream of beating GGG, which was always unlikely to happen). That said, it's your opinion, so fair play to you on that front.

Either man is capable of KO'ing the other. Spence is capable of ruinous body shots, so Brook will need to box smart and try and avoid them.

I find it quite hard to call, but if pushed I'd go for Brook by KO/TKO between 5 and 8.

Either way, I can't fucking wait. It will be my first experience of live boxing, despite being a genuine fan of the sport for 10+ years. Couldn't say no when it's happening less than a mile from my flat. Here's hoping that tomorrow night we hear the words I'm so desperately hoping for...

AND STILL

Should be easily possible to watch the FA Cup final (17:30 KO) and get into the ground in time for the Groves fight shouldn't it?
According to Sky Bet, the Groves fight is at 10pm. Allen/Thomas is at 8pm. Nothing on there inbetween those times.

True 50/50 fight I think, Lane needs to get loud, the support for AJ at Wembley was unlike anything I've ever heard before and truly believe that carried him through those tough middle rounds.

Kell looks psychologically more ready for this than Errol does based on the videos I've seen of them the last few days.

It's gonna be the toughest fight of his life, ignoring GGG cause he never truly had a prayer there, but I think Kell is gonna KO him.

Starting to feel pretty nervous about this tbh which i don't normally get before fights. Think it's just down to the fact that because it's at Bramall Lane and the added pressure that brings for Kell in what is a dream occasion for him. I just get the feeling that he'll never be able to live it down if he loses, not because he'll lose the belt or scupper the chance of future mega fights just losing infront of everyone at home on his big night. That's what worries me the most just the expectation of it all..

It's already been said above but how his body has handled the weight cut will be vital to his chances. Thought he looked good at the weigh in, maybe a little drained but then again so did Spence. I honestly don't think it will be an issue though on the night, neither will the eye. His nutritionist and team have everything dialed down these days so there will be none of the problems he's experienced in the past so we can fully expect the very best Kell Brook. My heart says he'll do a job on him and expose him infront of a raucous atmosphere but my head isn't entirely sure. There's still that huge question mark over Spence about how good he really is due to being relatively untested in his career so far.

A lot has been made of Spence's power but i just feel if Kell can take GGG's best shots he shouldn't have anything to fear. The kid can clearly bang but i just expect it's nothing Kell can't handle, it's not like he'll be just standing there taking them all night like Spence's last few opponents anyway. He'll be answering back with chocolate brownehs of his own. Both Algieri and Bundu have even said themselves they've faced bigger punchers it's just his accuracy and relentlessness that gave them trouble. The main thing Kell should watch out for is Spence attacking the body on the ropes. Kell needs to keep the fight in the middle of the ring as much as possible and when he does get dragged over clinch which is something he didn't do enough of for me in the Golovkin fight. I sometimes feel he takes unnecessary shots whilst on the ropes looking for that counter instead of just holding. Break the rhythm just like he did in the Porter fight and not let him gain control then back to the centre where this guy is there to be hit.

It would take something really special to top AJ vs Wlad the other week but styles make fights and this has all the makings of another classic. I know a lot of people have made Spence out to be a hype job and i must say i'm not overly convinced yet either but i will give him credit for coming into the lion's den. That deserves a lot of respect imo. On the otherhand though i do think he believes his own hype and what those around are telling him and that could well be his downfall. He's grown too confident over beating c/b level fighters and i don't think he fully realises how hostile the crowd will be on the night either. It's all well and good saying you sparred Floyd once in the gym and held your own but lets see how you get on facing 'The Special One' infront of 27000 at Bramall Lane in a real fight.

I'm not going to make a prediction as i don't want to jinx it this time but what i will say is IF Spence comes over here and wins convincingly then fair enough he's the real deal. You can't really argue with that. But then again no southpaw has ever gone the distance with Kell. Place your bets #Southpaw Slayer
C'mon Babi Do Us Proud!!!!

Good luck to Kell tonight. Hope he gives the fight of his life and wins handsomely. He will be well backed that's for sure.

Out from 2pm. It's one of my best friend's stag do, bound to be a classic.

GU ON, BABBI!

Both look in outstanding condition.

Why would you think that Spence wants it more than Kell ?
Kell fighting in his own city in front of 25k plus fans at BDTBL mostly Blades wanting to keep what he has worked so hard for. I think you vastly underestimate Kells desire to be World Champlon

I think that's an error though. Groves at 9.00, Kell around 10.00.

I agree with you .

Many see this as the classic encounter of the young hungry challenger coming up against a very well established champion . In this instance there is a lot to reinforce this view too . Spence isn't just fighting a well established champion outside of his homeland , he's coming to the champions own home town to fight him in front of a very noisy and partisan crowd . This alone takes some pretty big gonads and demonstrates real hunger to take the title .

But anyone who thinks Kell is merely going through the motions of a mandatory title defence completely misunderstands Kell Brook . He could have simply vacated the title and moved up a weight almost certainly securing an easier opponent easier training camp and another title . But Kell hasn't done that , he's refused all his teams advice and said no I fought hard for this title and no way am I letting go of it . For Spence to win he's got to literally rip the belt away from Kell and that's why I believe anyone underestimating Kell's desire here , especially Spence , will be in for a big surprise .

I think that's an error though. Groves at 9.00, Kell around 10.00.

My partner rang the ticket office yesterday. She says they told her.

Doors open at 4.30pm
First fight from 5pm
Kell Brook on about 9.45pm
They also said that once you're in you're not allowed to leave (for security reasons)
Also advised to get their early to allow time for extensive bag checks and body searches.

We're planning to get there about 8pm.

Not a chance Kell is on that early

Eddie Hearn himself has said about half 9 Groves, half 10 for Kell's ringwalk

That's what I thought. Main fights are always late in the evening.
Already told her she must have heard wrong and got confused, women eh.
Probably go down at 8.30 to 9pm then.

The TV coverage in the US starts at 5.15 ET, which is 9.15 GMT. Will they be showing the Groves fight in the States?

I reckon ticket office will just be quoting the earliest possible time, same thing happens for gigs

Don't wanna end up in shitter if they quote a late time and person on other end ends up missing it

No specific times here but an extra short fight has been added between Allen and Groves, where previously there was a two hour gap.

Eddie Hearn has just been answering questions on Facebook Live and has confirmed the Brook ringwalk is at about 10.30pm
