City are run by the blokes who ran Barca when they were outstanding, Begiristain etc. They’re very smart. By having a good sell on clause and a buy back option, they can’t really lose out. But providing the buy back is reasonably high, we won’t either.

Say the buy back fee is £10m and he ends up being rated at £15m, they could re-sign him and sell him on. But if they get, say 30% of the transfer fee, they’d be getting close to £5m anyway, even if he went to Spurs or Bournemouth. And either way, we’d still get around £10m for developing him.
Havent they got a similar deal with Leicester City with Iheanacho ,I think they got him for 25 million but the clauses are similar.

They paid £27.5m but have a buy back of £35m I believe.

Dont know much about him but heard good things.
Man City must be very confident that we'll sell him for a massive fee in the future otherwise they'd sell him now.

Just one thing though
It could get a bit messy if City want him back ?

Messy how? If an agreement is already in place as a buy-back clause it’s extremely mess-free, and extremely simple.

I’m not sure tbh but it wouldn’t surprise me. The Spanish clubs seem to do it a lot and given City are run by Spanish directors it’s likely they’ve starting doing the same

Would be interested in Kyle Walkers assesment of the lad
We may have got a good ‘un here

I reckon he's got a good chance of being the next blades player some of our fans can't spell...

"O'Connell needs a rest, should start Brian next week"

So do we call him Keano or Keansy?

Yes sounds like he's a good lad and he's already tweeted how much he hates your lot from S6.

He's OUR PLAYER.

A buy back, guarantees the fee, not the timing. If we come to sell Citeh have first dibs but they can't force a sale.

Nice try though to piss on our chips while we are all happy.

How is the transfer activity at your place coming along?

Looks like a versatile player. Chris must think he has the potential to step up, so hopefully he can provide decent left sided cover for CM and CB, possibly WB.

On a free it's a not brainer. If he flops he has only cost us wages and will still have a decent re-sale value at his age.

Very happy with this window so far. Just need that striker now, ideally a 6'4 powerhouse who can shift a bit. Because they are normally cheap and easy to find......o_O
diego costa?? :D

It's a long way off but I'm wondering what happens if another club bids for him and we accept. I imagine that City would get first option at the agreed price but if they didn't want him, would we still be obliged to hand over the value of the buy back clause from any fee that we'd get?

I'm not that bothered at the moment because we haven't actually paid anything for him but if he stays and his value increases as he gets better, then we will have invested in him.

If we've secured him for 2 to 3m if he goes in 2 years and we only make 1m it's been worth it In today's market.;where loans of prem players can cost as much

Absolutely love it... we get a potentially very exciting youngster from one of the best academies in the country FOR FREE and some blades still have a problem with the deal!

Listened to the snippet of his first interview on YouTube and he seems like a decent lad that has his feet on the ground. He also used to be No 10 for Citeh U23’s... if he comes good and nails down that LWB position
