E89's money's on him.

Haven't seen them enough to comment, although I'm sceptical when it comes to managers counting passes and focusing a lot on possession in itself. It is better to count chances created.

Counting goals is what counts nowt else

Alan Smith, Luke Chadwick and Ryan Lowe spring to mind, under-achieved last season and very much 'why have 2 or 3 incisive passes when 30 will do' but if that's what people want ;)

Don't rate him as a manager and also we would have to pay compensation for him. I can't see us having the money to pay that

He must surely be able to make more a go of it than some of the other names mentioned?

I dont like him period. He talks shite when interviewed post match , quite reminds me of Keith Hill in a way. Although not too bad as a pundit. No ta.

1. Who would you like as a matter of interest?

2. Who do you think we'll get?

Without a shadow of a doubt I would like Warnock, never wanted him to leave. I've said that in other posts... not going to happen though. If not him I would like McCall, also not going to happen as we would have to pay compensation for him. Pretty much any compensation style of deal you can pretty much rule out.

Who we realistically are going to get will be Morgs. To be honest there are no realistic names out of a job now which inspire me. I was very dissapointed with his Yeovil post match comments but who else can you honestly say is proven enough to sort the shit out, so we will stick with the cheap option, Morgs.

I didn't like Robinson until I came round to the idea of him as our manager, and out of all the realistic options, he's my pick. I will be disappointed if we don't get him.

Young manager who has firm opinions on playing a passing style and sticks to it no matter what. If we can get this style embedded in the club - and get the kids playing the same way, like they were under Reid/Pembo - we might just have something to be proud of in the next 10 years.

I'd like McCall or Pembo or maybe Barmby myself with Warnock as director of football either way. I know the very mention of the W word will get some frothing at the mouth, but thats my opinion.

Who will we get? $10,0000 question that is. I really dont know, but given McCabes past history it wouldnt surprise me if it was someone like Paul Jewell

My shortlist is down to 2, McCall or Robinson.

I have a feeling though that we will be looking at a Wilder and Morgan combo

To be fair to E89, he's backed Robinson, but he says it's more a hunch than owt else.

I think he knows the shortlist, but obviously doesn't know how the interview process will pan out

If it is Robinson. I can't see there being a position for Morgan. Robinson will want to bring his team with him I should think. John Gorman definitely.

That will probably rule him out. I bet part of the spec is to work with what we've got.

UTB

theres no guarantee warnock would be any good six years down the line. only recent success at qpr most people could've achieved with the money. flopped at palace and leeds, where he had the last of his old players to call on, the man is shot for ideas.. let it go

Add to the fact that Warnock has very publicly ruled himself out of the job after very publicly putting down the club and its supporters and having a publicly reported bust up with McCabe... I think we can rule him out.

I'm with Shef; of the potential appointments, I'd like McCall or Robinson.

Why? Whats he achieved?
A good attractive, effective playing style with minimal funds.
Warnock spent £20 Million and got us relegated, and Pembos done less than Robinson.
Sir Neil is a blowback to a hopefully forgotten era, its had its day and its about time some of our fans moved on. If you're having Warnock why not consider Blackwell FFS.
I think there is a better option than either of them available out there, with no compo, but I wouldn't be gutted with Robinson. I would with Warnock and wouldn't be going much if he was given the role.

McCall would be my first choice but he won't leave European football for the JPT and FA cup 1st round. I think Robinson is probably the best call

Gorman has retired, his assistant is Mick Harford
