I was on the Kop and it certainly didn't come off his hand. Never mind though, some can slag him off now and pray that Clarke stays in the team and our top goalscorer gets dropped.

Yes, his pen was shite and he shouldn't be on them, i'd give that duty to Fleck, who I could quite easily see do one of those chip styled pens straight down the middle, he's class for this league.

It seemed to me that he gave the goal and then changed his mind based on the opinion of the Walsall players. The Lino didn't see anything. He should have consulted him really to confirm his opinion because there is no way the ref could see.

I'm not really sure about disallowing the other one either. Was there a foul? If there was, is it the kind of one that's usually ignored?

Does he come from South Yorkshiire? If so how did he get to ref this game?
From Wombwell so he's either a pig or a dingle. Whichever it is neither likes us. There were so many infuriating moments that were blatantly obvious to all in the ground except the ref yet he saw tiny infringements and couldn't wait to give them. Almost every second half corner saw a defender wrestle Billy to the floor yet he turned a blind eye. Ultimately we were the architects of our own downfall though

I can't see a foul in the first goal either. Not by Clarke and certainly not by O'Connell

He wasn't a bad referee other than it was quickly obvious that he would have found a reason to disallow any number of goals we scored. My guess is we were part of a treble he had hanging over from the postponed game. He would have been better in yellow he was that bent

If he's from Wombwell, that makes him a womb, surely?

From where I was b it seemed that Billy went down too easily on at least 3 x occasions. He might be better served tryin to stay on his feet and battle for the ball. Then when he goes down it'll look like a proper 'un.

Yet he gave us a penalty and we failed to tale advantage of it..

There are very few people actually said Sharp should be dropped? Actually, I've seen no one say it. People are allowed to criticise things he does, without wanting him dropped.

I for one get wound up when he gets whiney because it isn't going his way, after he has fallen down for the 4th time looking for a penalty - I still want him on the pitch though, because he's our best striker.

...anyone got a link to the 'Billy handball'?

Can't see it on the Sky site!??

He couldn't not give the penalty. Kid acted like he was their goalkeeper right in front of the referee

And remarkably, he still didn't even book him. Reckon that ref had a fair few quid on an away win. Worst display from a referee in a very long time and I include Darren Deadman in that. In fact, it's probably the worst since Keith Stroud in the 2-2 v Brentford under Morgan.

I don't disagree entirely but I have seen people on here definitely saying he should've been dropped at some point and i've also heard people talking about it in boozers etc.

Some people have actually said that Clarke should be our focal point and leave Billy out all together, I appreciate everyone has an opinion but those saying that are going on things in the past and are thick as fuck.

Let's actually look who has been playing on our run and who has contributed hugely to it, one of those being Billy Sharp. He has his shit moments, fannying around trying to get free kicks sometimes and misses some guilt edged chances but you don't score all the goals he has by being completely shite and he deserves to be the focal point of our attack straight through the middle and not out on the left wing trying to accommodate some other twat.

Dingle getting one over on the Blades is the more likely explanation.

Possibly, Stroud was from Bournemouth who incidentally had loads to gain from a blades- Brentford draw with star players sent off for both teams. This ref seemed absolutely determined we were losing that game by hook or by crook whatever his motivation.

No evidence of handball

Grrrr!!

Shocking penalty too

what do you expect when the football league sends a Dingle to the Lane?

just seen this on his linked profile too

Not forgetting the worst I've ever seen,Darren Bond in playoff 1st leg v Swindon.

So not just biased. A kiddy-fiddler as well.

This should not be dropped as "one of those things". A referee from Barnsley should not be officiating a Sheffield united game. Plus rumours on twitter that he's an oinker. Somebody needs to face the consequences

Can we actually appeal to the FA? or would that would that come across as sour grapes from us?

There was something iffy about most of his decisions last night. Like Wilder said post match it seemed like most of their defenders were playing the role of goalkeeper and was surprised we only had one penalty given.
