I'm fine with all this sort of stuff on this part of the forum (rumour mill) because I just find it all good fun, mainly. The speculation about who we are in for, who might be leaving, etc.
With regards to the takeover, and your source, I would have two questions, which you may or may not be able to answer;
1. Is this an individual or a consortium (or, I guess, a country investment fund)?
2. If an individual, is this person (fingers crossed) a Billionaire?
I remember Kev McCabe being worth around £124 million, just before the Prince came on board (from the Sunday Times rich list), and I think the speculation was that the Prince was worth around £150 million, when he came on board (although it might be a lot harder to find out what a Saudi Prince is really worth, no matter how minor a Royal you are).
We all know that the landscape has changed dramatically now, and the desperation to reach the Premier League means that being a multi-millionaire is not really enough anymore, to keep a decent team afloat outside of the top flight. We all think that the Prince had no option with the sale of United, once the Newcastle sale to went through, to the Saudi investment fund.
To take us, or any other club up, and keep us there for a few years, until established, probably means someone with deep pockets, and good football men around them, to advise.
One glance across the city tells us that just having money and blindly throwing it at football club doesn't always work.........
