Owd Edna isn’t doing himself any favours either. He was ‘League one at best’ last season FFS.
Don't you think Enda has improved his game over the past 4/5 matches? He started slow this season and looked a weak link in some of the earlier games but he's already on 3 assists and his forward/link up play of late has been quality. Still needs to improve in some areas though.

Yes definitely, he’s done really well, almost back to where he was when he first came.

If you take a look at the post that was quoting, it’s about who’s going to be our next scapegoat as the usual suspects are all playing out if their skins, just a bit of banter. What I was saying is that Edna is also is out of contention for club boo-boy because he’s also playing well.

Rapid improvement was required, rapid improvement has been delivered. He now looks like a club record signing.

Ay, Edna or Egan are no longer the scapegoat, its still that Lumsden/Lundstrom/Lundstrem/Lundsom fella

John Egan is our best out and out centre half since Alan McLeary.

Eh? Never heard of him!

Egan seems to get his head on everything I’ll give him that.

I’ve not been over-impressed so far though. Let’s see how he develops but I think he’s pretty average considering the fee we paid. And Brentford fans seemed to think the same.

Bloody CW and AK brought in a new lad from Fulham/Brighton, but he has proved too good to be a scapegoat. Worse than that, he has displaced regular scapegoat Lunny, from the team.

Of the reliable remaining scapegoats, Billy really should have really taken more stick as we were recently told 'his legs have gone'. Well, the fat lad from Sheffield has only gone and bloody scored 7 goals in 11 games, taking himself well out of scapegoat territory.

The only remaining nailed on scapegoat is Leon, who can't currently buy a goal. All our hopes rest on your shoulders Leon....

You’ll have noticed I’ve subtly turned my attentions from BS to LC. I’ll be honest, I’d be happier to scapegoat Woodburn, but as he’s not featuring, it’s difficult. I’m still keeping my powder dry with JL. ;)

According to Mike Tyson, J Egan is the toughest white man on the planet. Fact. :)

That's the difference between shopping in the league one market to the championship. The average players go for 3 million plus. You've only got to look at waghorn. Back to Egan. I think he's been a solid, dependable central defender in the middle. Mops up every attack. And gets his head on 90 percent of crosses and passes that unfortunately come across him. Showing his 4 million pricetag with some excellent defending.

Egan has been solid, he's also had spells of driving out of the back line and playing some decent passes into midfield.

Brentford said he was a car crash with the ball at his feet, I don't see that.

(They also still claim O'Connell is a donkey).

Seeing a blades centre half bring a 80yrd clearance down with the touch like Zidane last sat was good enough for me instead of shitting his pants and hoofing it into row z. I'm easily pleased though.

Swap him for a Paul Beesley, Neil Collins etc....they'd have had possession back within 2 seconds.

Tends to happen when a player leaves, particularly when it's a step up for them. Remember Coventry fans telling us that Fleck was useless?

I'm sure lots of you know, but for those who don't Johns father was a legend in Ireland, a Kerry Gaelic footballer who won 6 All Ireland titles and 5 All Stars ( awarded at the end of the season to players who are judged to be the best in their position over the full season ) he died at the age of 59 in 2012.

They unveiled a statue of him in his home town last year and our John attended the ceremony.

Who knows, if it works out well we may erect a statue of John Jr in the car park in 2038!

Look everyone - we HAVE NOT paid £4m for Egan.

We've paid £600K down and the rest is paid over the length of his contract UPTO £4m.

I am led to believe if he doesn't play, we don't pay.

You can of course ask McCabe - but you'll be wasting your time as that is where this came from.

It isn't a secret by the way.

Next time you see him could you ask him how much we’re committed next season on payments for signings, how much we’re getting in and who’s going to cover the difference whilst him and the Prince Regent are suing each other? Given we’re drawing down most of the Brooks money to cover our commitments for this season.

we might be breaking into that £100m PL deal - you never know............

I know indeed as there's 3/4 kerry lads well into their GAA and they told me when they heard the news.

I believe his mum also represented Kerry or Cork at Camogie or Footy.

She represented Kerry in camogie and won a League of Ireland medal with Cork Rangers so his sporting pedigree is pretty impressive!

I was at a cousins wedding in Clare at the weekend and a number of people mentioned the Irish lads we have playing for us. I'm Anglo-Irish - father from Sheffield, mother from Clare - but despite my lifelong attachment to the Blades I have failed to convert any of them to the cause. :(

Tottenham,Liverpool and Arsenal are the preferred choice of those that take an interest in ' soccer ', thankfully only one Man U fan in the family!

Ha ha, my future in law is a QPR fan somehow, lad at work follows Ipswich....and I actually met someone in the pub watching the leeds game last year that follows Scunthorpe.

So, they're not all big 4 followers, but most of 'em are.

That's true, got one Newcastle fan but cousin Eoghan goes his own way, worked in Australia for a year, came back with a hippy haircut and brought a surfboard back with him, good surfing in Lahinch but just a bit cooler than Bondi.
Are you based over there?

Whilst there's work here yeah, 2 years and counting now :-)

Central Dublin, Grand Canal

Great city my wife and I have stayed over for a night out on many ocassions on our way back to the ferry after the annual trip to see the family in Clare.
Hope you got the chance to see a bit of the rest of the country as well, as I tell people who have only been to Dublin it's like someone going to London and thinking they've seen England.
