I wonder if this one will be a loan with a view to buy while we wait for things to go through.

My preference would be him at LCB, with Trusty sold. But he could easily play the middle role with Worrall on the right. They'd also be a very good pair in a back 4
Absolutely spot on...... especially the bit about selling Trusty.

7 months later we are still talking about this…

You'd have to think Worrall is even more likely with Egan departing. McKenna I'd expect will head north of the border. LCB isn't a priority for a high earner with JLT and Trusty able to play (at Champ level) there.

Worrall is the key signing but I hope we're also talking to McKenna. It would make perfect sense
Not much overlapping but now Egan has gone, having Worrall, McKenna and Robinson makes some sense especially as Anel going is definitely on the cards. Though I can foresee a Holgate loan if something could be done on wages.

But then again it depends on the new regime.

Worrall played just short of 900 mins across Forest and Besiktas last season, I hope we do this one early if it happens so he can have a decent pre season.

He seems naturally fit and is only 27 so hopefully he can get back to regular playing for us.

although i would like to see us go to a back 4 next season cant see it happening while wilder is the manager but a back 3 of worrall mckenna and robinson would be a very strong no nonsense defence trusty can go for me

A strange one on a permanent given age, likely fee and the purported reasons for Egan's departure. If the new owners are going big with an eye on the PL you'd think we'd be targeting players with the potential to be useful there. They are solid top end Championship players at best.

It would be a solid back three AB - I'd worry when they're up against a pacey front line though and would prefer a more mobile option in there at RCB tbh.

I think we've seen time and again that you don't need pace at CB in the championship

I suspect terms are already agreed, but we can't do anything without the takeover.
I’m surprised we can’t borrow the money to be paid in instalments. We’ll still be getting parachute payments & can surely borrow against the parachute payments we’re due.

I’ve never heard of a relegated team have no money what so ever, especially after we raised circa £35m in player sales last season too.

Haven't we already "borrowed"money on parachute payments?

Yes - already utilised parachute money I think someone has said, so without a takeover we have very limited funds available. Hence why it is frees/loans market and Worrall is still under contract at Forest, so they will want a fee.

What on? You get £110m for promotion and then further parachute payments after. We then raised £35-40m in player sales inc Archer returning.

I know its the same old debate but where has the money gone?

Holgate WTF I was going to put so over rated BUT???Who rates him? 100% bang average

Thanks for that,so many rumours and stuff going around, hard to keep up.
Mate, El Accounto is taken as a bit of a joke on here, as is Ramble Blade that passes on the info he tells him, I dont think there a Blade on any platform that's closer to the Prince than he is.
And I'm SURE I heard him say we didn't gamble by using next seasons parachute payments a year early.

Mate, the biggest earners have left, parachute payments are coming in, we'll sell our two biggest (unwanted) assists for millions and the buy out sounds days away...
It ain't as bad as this forum will lead you to believe.

The obsession that there is an imminent takeover and that it is holding up transfers is beginning to be caustic.
There is limited evidence that it is imminent nor that anything is being held up.
If we were discussing multi million pound transfer any possible new owner would want a say, but we are not in that sphere of operations !!
