If he's coming let's hope he s better than 2 ex Manure loanees that come to mind...Twiss and Cofie !

I'm offended that the profession of being offended on behalf of someone else isn't recognised in society in the same way as a surgeon, teacher, nurse or binman. Those cunts get paid a good wedge for doing a job nowhere near as important or stressfull as that of the professional being offended on behalf of someone else. That's proper 24/7 that is.

Had a look on his likes on Twitter... he liked a post from the EFL showing the team of the week with Freeman in it. Maybe he's already mates with everyone???????

Sometimes teams get players in for a few days to see how they fit in before the loan goes through. I imagine he would do that with young players and I think he did it with Chapman

What's his main position then?

they are quite reliable but they said we were very close to signing Morsy

We were very close to signing Morsey.
He was deciding whether to join us or Scunthorpe.

Then we both got gazzumped by Championship level Barnsley at the last minute.

This only happened because they acquired a windfall when John Stones was transfered from Everton to Man City. Of course at that point we had chance of competing financially with Barnsley, so he went there.

"Very close" doesn't mean it WILL definitely happen.
It just means that it should happen. As it's a loan then Man Utd hold the power, so it's not as though another club is going to come in and compete with us. They just want him to go into a good environment to for his developement and Mourinho likes the idea of him joining us.

The account that claims he's a right back?...

I believe he's a wing back and 2 footed.

So he can easily play left back, right back, left wing or right wing.
He'll be ideal playing in our system, a defender encouraged to get forward down the wing as much as possible.

He's good at crossing, good with dead balls taking corners and free kicks and apparently he's capable of scoring too.

So a very versatile all rounder and I don't think even Mourinho knows his best position yet.
I suspect Man Utd will be having an input/ interest into how we intend to use him.

Man Utd want to send him out on loan to find out what his best position is, so even they don't know.

From what i've seen he looks like he loves to cut in from the left and onto his right foot to take a shot, so i think he'll play higher up the pitch than people think if we were to sign him.

I think coming here would be the best preparation for playing for Man Utd. Big crowd, pressure, expectations, winning team, top of the league. And being in L1 he should play regularly too. That's why I think he'll choose us.

The account that claims he's a right back?...

Yeah i saw that. He's meant to be a Right footed left back.

Some MUFC fans say he should play Left Back before Marcos Rojo. Just checked soccerbase and he's only played twice - 1 start.
Those fans may be like ours that thought Diego should've been starting, just because he was young and come through the ranks.

From what I've seen of him (I'll admit that I've only seen him a handful of times.) I'd say that's his best position.

He's right footed but has a strong left foot and can play either full/wingback role. I'd also guess he'd be OK as winger as well as he's good going forward.

While he's a promising player, anyone who thinks he's anywhere near Man Utd's first team is deluded.

I don't know mate...........have you seen Marcos Rojo recently, he's lucky to stay on the pitch. :)

Man Yoo season ticket holder and youth game attendee I know had this to say...

Don't rate him. He can play in midfield but isn't as good as Ben Pearson or up front but he's not as good as James Wilson. Could probably do a job at your level. Needs to decide what his actual position is though

He is a miserable fucker at the best of times though, so don't read too much into that.

I think the thing with Joe Riley is that he's an all round talented footballer
That is equally good in any position he plays, defence, midfield or attack.
He's had some great feedback playing in the Man U reserves, often standing out as one of their better players.

But the big problem is that no one seems to know his best position.
And although talented doesn't seem to be good enough to break into the Man U first team.

Joe himself has said his favourite position is playing as attacking full back in a team that likes to attack. He likes being a dynamic winger with plenty of space in front of him.
Apparently he wants to be another Luke Shaw.

Until someone gets injured or suspended I can't see him getting a game. I can understand if he's cover for Lafferty but apart from that position I'd sooner blood one of our younger lads if necessary than train up some Man U kid. It can't be long before Brooks gets a chance can it ?

To begin with he would be a guy I would look to bring on for Lafferty if we're struggling at home or chasing a game. whoever signs isn't going to be a shoe in. Carruthers will struggle to replace Duffy or Coutts. Maybe he could be used behind Sharp in away games.

Disagree,Carruthers will piss all over Duffy and Coutts, just wait and see.
