Not many. And I probably worded my post wrong. Never saw him have any good moments, never saw a European player there. Was happy with the price we got.

I don't think many were unhappy with it., but he's gone from glaringly shit to playing in Europe after getting games under his belt. We just were not in the position to allow him that time, or the players around him to get him through them.

If it helps iBlade. though, Pinchy thought Fleck was glaringly shit before he signed and didn't want Wilder anywhere near the club. take it with a pinchy salt

DCL was glaringly shite when he played for us. Don't let that interfere with the agenda, though.

Harry wanted to go. He faked sunstroke so as not to play for us.

Uncomfortable truths.
Don't be silly he wasn't shite he needed a good run which he never got, do you think Everton would have bought a shite player has you say he's not some bad as he ?

Chris Wilder: “We’re in a better position and I’m possibly contradicting myself now, but maybe if we’d kept hold of the likes of, or tried a little bit harder to keep hold of the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and maybe one or two of the others [we’d benefit now that we’re] in the Championship. So hopefully we can do that now.”

nopigfansintown (5th July 2016): Hugely disappointed with this if true. Regular watchers of the youth teams will know he has outstanding potential.
For one million they've had our pants down. Desperate times, desperate measures.

He's our most highly though of young player alongside Ramsdale, and could develop into a much bigger asset. Got a cracking attitude etc. If we get the complete fee up front it won't be quite so bad. I'd rather sell Mcnulty and Done and save on the wage bill too. It will be a kick in the balls for fans who wan't to see youngsters from the academy making a first team impression too

nopigfansintown (31st August 2016): I know it's see as de rigueur to decry the sale of every young player and say they are worth more, but I think it will prove the case with this lad. The trick is to sell at the height of their value and I'm not sure we've come close with this one. Lets hope there's a lot of nice clauses in his deal to cushion the blow if my opinion is validated. If the money gets us promoted the ends will no doubt justify the means though. Another point worth mentioning is: If you were a United manager would you invest in developing a lad like this or risk underselling him for jam today?

The only qualm most had 're DCL was the ridiculously low fee. Doesn't matter how many games he'd played, goals he'd scored etc when a premiership side comes after a young English striker you extract maximum value. We clearly didn't do that and for anyone to suggest otherwise is ridiculous.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, I'm no scout but I really didn't care when we lost him.

Absolutely correct
It is the buying clubs risk to take a punt on a relatively unknown youngster.

They do their research and scouting and take the risk accordingly

Every young player we have should be treated as though he could go on to become the next Messi, instead of assuming that he might never make it therefore we should offload him as soon as any sort of offer comes in

You need to read the rest of the proposition.
Depends how it's presented. It's possible to admit to not being an expert but sharing ones thoughts. Don't see anything wrong with that.

Claiming you're an expert and that your opinion somehow overrides everyone elses with nothing to back it up doesn't make sense I would agree.
However, I wouldn't read that attitude into someone's post just because they have an opinion at all though, which I think is what you may be in danger of.

In any case, back onto the actual subject matter - this sounds like a promising signing (albeit on loan) if we could pull it off.

Scoring records matter but they matter more when the player is a bit older. At that age I think it's fair to value attributes over the raw goals/game ratio.

Ive said previously that having the ability to skip past defenders in the centre and getting a shot off is very impressive and something we lack.

Having the skill to beat wing backs though, the strength to hold them off, the pace to cut inside, the fast feet to beat the centre half, the bravery to get a shot off and the accuracy to hit the target is worth absolute millions!!

It's what Gray looked like doing to us every time he got the ball tuesday and although that is only a highlight reel it looks like this Sinclair has those attributes too.
The problem is the highlight reel is against junior teams. the best news from looking at that is he's two footed. Clearly too big strong and fast for U18/U21, an opportunity for us to help him make the step up to adult football

Fair enough mate, personality I thought he showed great promise, in fact I am struggling to think of a home grown striker that had more potential. My gripe though is with the glaringly shite tag.
DCL never looked glaringly shite to me. He looked like a young kid with bags of potential who was still finding his feet. A proper athlete though who at league 2 level was tearing teams apart. Would have been great for us at times last season but had to be sold to build the rest of the team (especially GK and LB) for promotion.

I actually used the phrase to counter the "glaring error" bollocks. There was nothing at all in the player we saw that made his sale a glaring error. Hindsight is 20/20 vision in S2.

I'm still not convinced he has a PL career ahead of him. Time will tell.
