Always a bit of fun looking at the last time a new signings name was mentioned on the forum whilst playing for another club. Nothing was meant by it hence there being no follow up comment. Take from it what you will! I would have posted the comment had it been positive,negative or indifferent.

At last a centre-half! At last someone actually acts upon the glaringly obvious 2 to 3 year problem of not having any. Then wondering why we leak goals against the bottom half of the English football league on a regular basis!

It seems from reading Oldham fans views on Wilson that they think he's got quality, and on paper, has all the tools to be a very good centre half but at the same time is a bit mardy, drops his head when things aren't going his way and needs a Chris Morgan type alongside him both to compliment Wilsn's footballing side and also to gee Wilson up. If that's the case then I reckon we have to be realistic in this signing but also say that Wilson has all the tools to come off and be a really decent signing and in Wilder we know we have a manager who seems to get the best out of players. Also I reckon McFadzaen is an ideal partner for Wilson, should we get McFadzaen.

Wilson sounds a bit like Edgar to me. Edgar was 6.4ft but not exactly a no frills defender likr Morgan was he? Hopefully Wilson will prove to be an upgrade on Edgar, although I thought Edgar was reasonable to be fair.

Well that went quickly it was only this morning. We were monitoring James Wilson at Oldham & few hrs later we've bought him. But I think I said previously on 1 of these threads. Its best at this level to judge them on the pitch because we have tried to splash out on players with reputation that supposed to be fantastic we got Hammond & mceveley really only billy sharp has worked.

Nobody's seen him in a red and white shirt, he might turn out to be an excellent centre back. However, if we're being entirely honest with ourselves and stop pretending otherwise, at the moment it looks an underwhelming signing. No more no less.

Sounds like a 2016 version of Morgs and Kilgallon if we can get McFadzean alongside him?
