I’m not arguing it didn’t work

But equally DCL and ramsdale have both played for England. Brooks became a full welsh international.

Would wilder have refused to play the likes or Maguire and Kyle Walker if he’d been here earlier?

Ndaiye was ignored when we were crying out for some creativity in the pl and you can’t argue with what he’s produced so far.

We’ve an experienced spine, so we can play some young players for me.
It’s very difficult to both develop youth players and win promotion. In some respects, they are contrasting goals. As a general rule (and there are always exceptions in football) experienced players are more consistent, younger players make errors that can cost you points. For example, the pigs’ equaliser was down to Brooks losing his man. It was only because of a bit of genius from Duffy that he got away with it.

We now appear to have the choice in CM of Fleck, Norwood, arguably Berge and a bunch of kids. Up front, Sharp, who may or may not remain fit, McB, who’s always got some issue, and a bunch of kids. In defence, three senior fit players plus Bash, who seems to be getting niggles and might not have the resilience anymore to play his usual 40+ games a season, a new signing who’s young and not experienced in the championship and a couple of kids. And it seems that none of our wingbacks can cross a ball, which is one of the key attributes for that position. And the only option to address that seems to be sign another kid.
It seems our hopes in CM come down to Doyle, McAtee if we sign him, Coulibaly who I know little about other than he started well at Beerschott, got injured and done nowt since, and Arblaster who hasn’t yet played a senior game.

We won’t go up, we’ll make the playoffs because at some point these kids will cost points, we’ll lose the playoffs and end up having to sell the best kids to cover the drop in parachute payments, which will be substantial. And we’ll keep doing that until we’ve run out of decent youth players, each season finishing just a little short because we’ll never have enough youth players developing at the same time. I’ve seen it before. For example, Arsenal under Wenger when they were paying off the stadium.

I’m happy for anyone to disagree, it’s just my opinion based on observation and I’ve been wrong before. But that’s my take.

Some people on here are weird - moan that we don’t do what Forest did and get exciting young loan players in then moan when it looks like we are doing. Make up your minds people
I haven’t once moaned that we didn’t do what Forest did. It’s a question of balance and a matter of fine detail. Adding some good young loans to improve your squad is usually a good thing, relying on young loans and your own young players to make up the bulk of the team is a very big gamble with the odds firmly against.

Flicking the ball over a defenders head and smashing a volley into the top corner ?????????

What is this childish nonsense?

We'll soon have that showboating bolox hammered out of him.

Who does he think he is coming here and entertaining people

He might wake people up when he gets the ball, hell they might even stand up and raise the volume slightly.

And when that happens SYP will stand around the pitch, batons drawn, and blocking another 5000 seats from being able to see.

The safety executive will then view this as a crowd disturbance and shut sections of the stadium down.

I'm really not sure about having a player with natural ability, the potential excitement makes me worry about what's in store for the club from the Sheffield junta sorry authorities
We'll soon knock that out of him, he'll be passing backwards in no time.

What have you seen in Ciaran Clark that gives you such confidence?

I didn't say I was confident...

Not seen a lot of positives in his first 60 odd minutes but he was playing out of position and you don't make 250 plus Premier League appearances by being crap....that earns him a bit of time in my book.

You should know by now that the one thing you DONT get here is time

He hasn't played regularly in a long time.
When he did, he was a liability.

It wasn't a signing I was particularly enthused by and I saw nothing to change my mind on Monday. Either way, with J Robinson now out we've got no alternative. Let's hope moving over to the left solves all of the issues with him, but I have concerns.

If you have strong decent midfielders who can tackle.
I think it’s more about winning second balls these days. You don’t see many tackles on the player in possession in central midfield areas, apart from the one where the Watford player took the ball from Norwood whilst he was looking around deciding who to ping it to. (30k Blades simultaneously went “FFS Ollie”).

Not saying I don't have concerns, just that he deserves more than 60 minutes....and how many times was JLT a liability last season...

He's got into double figures for appearances for Newcastle every season for the past 5....twice making the line up 20 plus times...that's fairly regular!

Over the past 6 seasons Clark has made 112 apps, mostly at Premier League level..... JLT 110 mostly not at Premier League level. Let's see how Clark gets on in his natural position, if we are gagging for JLT's return from injury then it would suggest things have gone very wrong indeed.

JLT would of at least got Egans headers on target

You do know it's Sheffield United he might be signing for not Sheffield Wednesday ?
Just checking because we are led to believe all Man City Fans want Sheffield Wednesday back in the Premiership.
No surprise really as Southgate has said he would like Wendy's first eleven to start for England.

The 2 players you’ve just named are neither what you’ve described in the above paragraph
What I remember of Chong he's that type of midfielder and Kieran Davies has the presence I referred to and we require up front

Just been reading the Huddersfield Town forum, see link below.

Seems like they were at the front of the queue and he was joining them on loan about 6 weeks ago.
Since then it seems like Leeds, Forest have shown interest to sign him permanently, but Man City don't want to sell and prefer a loan instead with plenty of game time.
So for gauranteed game time it seems the Championship is the preferred destination, with plenty of CC clubs showing interest to have him on loan.

The Huddersfield fans have heard good stuff about him saying he'll be too good at this level and were getting excited bigging him up.
However in the last day or 2 the thread has gone flat because they understand a deal has been done to join Sheff United.
They seem gutted and say Sheffield United have made a top signing.....let's hope it's announced.

Don't be daft. You should be on his case pronto. None of this cissy 'look at his career, give him a bit of time' bollocks.

Give the kid a chance.

None of that thank you.

He's young, lightweight, and won't be up for the fight. He dunt get stuck in enough and tries too much fancy Dan stuff.

I for one won't be giving him a chance and I have serious ball knowledge.

Aye, normally if you forget your headband and they start dangling in your eyes.

*I know you were being facetious
