You could see the composure drop off when he was off for Soumare. He needs protecting though

However when you play close attention he has quality, knows which area he needs to operate in and plenty of calm controlled keep possession passing.

It’s noticeable how Peck seems to be playing better too having Jairo next to him.

Look how much football he's played. 80 appearances in 7 seasons at Palace. Only managed 25 appearances last season. Three starts in six days, he was always getting subbed off at some point.

I had him pegged as a desperation signing. And he is a bit. Wasn't impressed much at all by him on the pitch either. That said, you're spot on. He's another one who's growing into what Wilder's doing. Even if he wouldn't have been on the list if Wilder were here in the transfer window, he's giving us something we were desperately missing.

Shackleton was a gamble on a free when we hadn't sold the club and needed players. That gamble hasn't worked.
