The problem with JLT’s throws was that they were flat, fast and straight into the goalie’s hands.
He was signed as a back up defender and nothing more!
the fact that he became a mainstay in our team should be a question asked to every cunt at united

He was back up last year only Souttars injury got him in
Not quite. Souttar started as backup but Robinson picked up an injury against QPR so Souttar came in and was obviously superior, meaning Robinson had to be content to be backup...until Ahmedhodzic stupidly got himself sent off against Oxford, at which point he was dropped for Robinson until Souttar's injury against Burnley.

Burnley at home was the 23rd match of the season. The centre half pairing for those 23 matches was Ahmedhodzic/Souttar 13, Souttar/Robinson 7, Ahmedhodzic/Robinson 2, Gilchrist/Robinson 1.

First 2: Ahmedhodzic - Robinson W1 D1 L0
3-12: Ahmedhodzic - Souttar W6 D2 L2
13: Souttar - Robinson W1 D0 L0 (Ahmedhodzic banned for 5 yellows)
14-16: Ahmedhodzic - Souttar W2 D1 L0
17-18: Souttar - Robinson W2 D0 L0 (Ahmedhodzic banned for straight red vs Coventry)
19: Gilchrist - Robinson W0 D1 L0 (Ahmedhodzic (straight red) & Souttar (two yellows vs Sunderland) banned)
20-23: Souttar - Robinson W3 D0 L1

I’m not a fan of JLT, but I’m going to disagree with this.

Flat and fast (JLT) is harder to defend than slow and loopy (SLT).

I think the SLT throw is more accurate. Our players know which area to attack. It’s also a more aesthetically pleasing chuck. Like comparing Michael Holding to Mitchell Johnson.

Well maybe….

Nope. JLTs were crap.

Difficult to argue with that, for the most part. And on the few occasions they led to an attempt on goal, they always made me feel a bit dirty (and not in a good way).

I was making a more general point, really, or trying to. High balls delivered flat and fast into the box—corner, cross or throw—are generally harder to defend than slow and loopy ones.

I like SamMc, and it’s good to have someone who can chuck it. But the pace and trajectory he chucks it at won’t worry most defenders if they’re coming onto the ball.

True, but also harder to clear of slow and loopy maybe.

JLTs were just crap.

I went to Cardiff a few years ago.
We were under the cosh a bit then JLT went off - hamstring.
Cieran Clarke came on.
Cardiff's RHS went awal. All due to Clarke imho.
We won 1-0 - thanks to dear old George.
Clarke even made our LB, Lowe later on look good.
Best we've had since Jack.

No no and thrice no

Tw@t of a player and man

Championship Joey Barton

Did he ever thank the fans or say goodbye when he left ?

I think looking at Tanganga being uncertain on the left side of CB and Mee out for a while then this rumour now might have some legs in it, we need a LCB and Wilder likes him.

Not saying I would want him back but I can now see it being more likely
