Incoming? Jack Robinson on loan in JTW from Brum

For anyone wondering…

Robbo has been sent off twice in the league this season, both times via two yellows. A two-yellow sending off results in a 1-match suspension. However, it’s a progressive punishment, which means the second time it happened, he was suspended for 2 games. 1 for the sending off, 1 more for it being the second time.

So this means if it happens again, he would get a 3-match suspension. 1 for the sending off, 2 for it being the third occurrence.

Whilst he never got sent off for us, we know he is a hot head, so we would be taking on an even bigger liability than he was when he left.

On loan until the end of the season? Makes a decent back up, knows the majority of players, Wilder trusts him etc - I can see why it looks good on paper, but I was also very happy when we'd moved on from him. As a short term commitment then I think he'd be ok, if only to set some standards in among the dressing room but when you've got the likes of Ben Mee, Pat Bamford and Danny Ings my question would be whether we need any more of those types.

His reception at BDTBL on 20th December may let Wilder know what the general match-going feeling is. I imagine it’ll be positive
The reception can only be positive. I have nothing bad to say about JLT at all. Always gave his all. He would be good as a squad filler and temp backup.

Having said all of the above, he's not exactly pulling up any trees of late though is he? 😂

Yeah, think you're only allowed to play for 2 different teams on loan in one season.
Players are permitted to be registered with a maximum of three clubs during any 12-month period spanning 1 July to 30 June the following year. However, they can only play official matches for a maximum of two clubs within that same period.

So he either plays for Birmingham for the rest of the season, goes abroad, or comes to us

Going abroad doesn't help him unless it's to a league which starts after October, if such a thing exists.

Fair enough, I thought someone did it to the MLS recently, but my memory likes to prove me stupid
MLS would work, the season runs from February to October. The issue is that Robinson's probably too shit even for the MLS and that's saying something.

Whilst he gave us effort and service over the years. I can't help but feel in agreement with most others.
I'd rather we look at different options.

He never cut it in the PL and truth be told has been pretty bang out of form this season it would appear. I suppose on loan adds cover.

Would rather see another CB target being lined up.

"Always gave his all".
Which on many occasions was not good enough.
Please don't bring him back Chris. There must be better options out there.
There is better option's, but Wilder would do it just to try and prove a point! He cost us last season... don't we ever learn ffs! Typical utd though, lift you up one minute and next go backwards again.

I must have over eaten cheese last night and am still experiencing nightmares!

Wouldn't surprise me in the least and would confirm the managers limitations when it comes to recruitment. He just wants his culture carrier favourites around him. Lets not stop there lets get Rhian back as well because he's good for the dressing room even though he's a perennial sick note ffs!!

I hope the article is just lame speculation. If true it should hasten the need for a DOF to come in and manage recruitment. The blue noses will be pissing themselves laughing if we take the bomb scare off their hands.

It would be typical Sheffield United if we go on an unbeaten run up to the JTW pushing for the play offs only to bring back mistake ridden Jack to de rail us again. He cost us at least 10 points last season with his errors that would have given us automatic promotion. Add in the managers obsession in playing him in front of better players and its a recipe for disaster. Would be a waste of a loan.

If CW is on a mission to correct the errors of the last transfer window he would be better employed trying to get Moore back.
Read Kevin Keegans book and see how a DOF worked out for him and ultimately Newcastle United.
A manager should stand or fall by his own decisions, not a third party buying players for the manager to work with.

If this has one grain of truth it confirms what I've said for ages, Wilder is deluded like most Sheffield football fans ,never going to move this club forward, he's too much of a fan and emotionally involved to be in charge, get all the lads back in like Mcburnie, Brewster & Souttar next, same when he got Jags back, wasting big wages, maybe Walker another hero can be brought home in January!

Negatives:

  • He’s not good enough to play in the Championship as a starter
  • He’s hardly played this season so won’t be match fit

Positives:

  • He’s not McGuinness
  • Culture carrier
