...and you've probably seen me chirping away with giddy nonsense on quite a number of threads. But, I've now had time to think about it:

All I wanted for us today, was to turn up. As simple as that.

In the past fortnight, I was frustrated that the injuries and risk of Wilder and Coutts suspensions may have meant that the united we've seen for the past year wouldn't be there, that we'd be improvising. I just wanted us to turn up, to show up, to play well. Regardless of the result, I wanted to give that lot a game. To rubbish the berty big bollocks they've been giving it. All that talk of we'll never compete, that we'll never be able to spend enough.

Not only did we turn up, we absolutely battered them, at their ground. And with a squad built at a fraction of the cost of theirs. They spent £15m on one striker, I bet that is more than all our squad cost collectively.
  • That free kick!
  • Brooks' fearlessness!
  • Clarke's goal and that lack of togetherness amongst their defence.
  • Clarke's celebration, not holding back. That shows that once you're in this group, you're well and truly part of it.
  • The bench full of smiles!
  • Some of those tackles and pressing. The only one trying to do that for them was Bannan.
  • To go from giving it the big one beforehand to 25 mins in and their lot looking miserable in each stand.
  • Couttseh and Fleckeh dictating the play.
  • Harry in with the Blades fans.
  • Tactically superb first half from Wilder and Knill.
  • Outnumbering them in midfield.
  • The 3 at the back becoming 5 when needed, the 3 in midfield becoming 5 when needed, and then 6 with Brooks dropping back.
  • Brooks playing between the lines.
  • You could sense the 2-2 coming and then WHAT a response from the Blades. Wilder and Knill get it tactically spot on again!
  • Duffy scoring whilst they were still bouncing! What a goal! That video! Stand still you set of silly twats!
  • The way we absolutely played them off the park.
I read on Roy's view from that apparently the only reason we were so good is because we were up for playing them, that they are supposedly our main motivator. I've got news for you, porkers - we've been playing that well every week for over a year now. We knew we had that in us all along, your lack of respect, your naivety meant you didn't see that coming.

Today is a great day to be a Blade. We did exactly what I wanted us to do. We turned up and we played our way.

Well done Blades! I'm feeling incredibly proud.

great post mate, not ashamed to admit, after all the euphoria today, i had a quiet moment to myself and for the first time in a long long time shed a little tear, a mixture of pride and relief i think, hope you enjoyed that up on your cloud grandad

You're more than welcome mate. Your final 5 words are every bit as good!

A lot of pigs taking the piss out of our so called "pashun". Well guess what silly bollocks, that's what a bit of passion gets you!

My feeling is that of a great swell in my trousers, I believe I'll rematch the match with my hand on my unmentionables.

Oh what a night
Late September 2017
We scored four, what a f#&king team
What a feeling, what a night
