Lois, now there's a name to refresh my memory. Italian brand weren't they? I had a couple of pairs of Lois Jeans, think their branding featured a bull, but correct me if I'm wrong. I used to shop at John Simon in Covent Garden, the best supplier of american-italian menswear I recall. Now Simons has relocated to Chiltern Street, very swish and the place to be it seems.

I think Lois were Spanish, IIYB, hence the bull

That's the one, and you're probably right SEB, my error, Spanish company who, for a while, had a shop(s) in London. The only other Spanish fashion company I'm aware of who have had a presence in the UK is Adolfo Dominguez.

Desigual are here, and because it's one Mrs SEB's favourite shops Mango I know are also Spanish. Probably others as well, got a feeling the Zara might be Spanish, another that Mrs SEB frequents.

'kinell, you're a right fashion directory! Yes, Zara are Spanish, aimed at the affordable fashion age range, although for us older blokes of wide-ish girth they don't make clothes that fit.

It's funny, I've seen all the shops you've mentioned but never connected their place of origin. We could talk fashion but this is the wrong thread.

Then I hope one day Mrs Seb and I will meet and discuss the serious business of fashion. When funds permit I have a thing for Crockett & Jones shoes. One step below the likes of John Lobb (St. Jame's St) or Foster & Son in Jermyn Street, but top footwear all the same.
