If we've ever got into the idea, we need to get out of the idea of playing 3-5-2.
It has to be either 3-4-1-2 or 3-4-2-1.
Even in the promotion season the flat 3 saw us playing dogshit until Duffy came in and we went 3-4-1-2.

We looked to change to 3-4-2-1 after an hour at Mansfield, although Ndiaye and Brewster were swapped from the second line up above. We got Berge on the ball a couple of times (good run before Brewster's disallowed goal), but struggled defensively and conceded twice in ten minutes. A bit before the 75 minute drinking break we seemed to have scrapped it and gone back to 3-5-2. We kept that after that short break with Couliably, Arblaster and Fleck in midfield.
Barnsley will be the last chance to really test something other than 3-5-2.
I think the 3-4-2-1 can make us press better high up and possibly find more space in attacking central areas. But we will have to show we can cope defensively in that formation if it is to be a viable alternative.
