That's a sweeping statement on the back of what.
He was here in .March! If he was unhappy then seems a bit strange to come back for more.
He's had a rough deal with Covid and injuries not forgetting he has bee n away from his family as well.
We are trying to create an environment that young players thrive on.
Don't beleave he has been ignored at this sensitive time for him.
 
Worth remembering we nearly lost N'Diaye last summer. sounds like he needs some more time with Hecky.

I think he needs to know he will get a chance at some point and just needs to get used to the dressing room.

Maybe, but it doesn't inspire me with confidence that he isn't going to be a problem. That he isn't going to be unhappy if he doesn't start games.. If we are offered a few million, I'd just take it. We don't even know whether he'll be able to complete in the English game. Given we have no money, it seems a silly gamble if we could use the funds to invest elsewhere.
 
He says the back injury held him back last season, but he's finally better. That's great news.

Then he's grateful for Beerschot for having him and obviously it can be hard to compare that to a few days alone in Sheffield. I don't think he meant that interview to be the one that Blades fans judged him on.

Let's give him some time to adapt, adjust and settle.

His english is not bad.

A few million would not be peanuts in the position we're in.
 
What about letting the lad settle in make friends ,then let him show what he's about ,if he's good enough he will get a chance ,the kids been here there and everywhere he's just wanting stability .never take what's reported in a article as gospel ,it's not like reporters to twist a interview 😉
 
He's left two places where he's been made to feel welcome and he's settled well.

There's plenty about Sheffield as a place and room for improvement on the transfer thread, but Sheffield and Yorkshire people are very warm and friendly. Yes people can be direct but there is genuine affection there for other folk.

He's been in Sheffield less than a week.

Once Billy has got hold of him and everyone is back, and he's hanging around with players his own age range, relaxed lads like N'Diaye, Brewster, Bogle, all around the same age, no reason he can't fit in nicely.

If we do lose Sander and as opposed to playing 3-4-3 or 3-4-1-2 and we did play 3-5-2, there's easily a spot for him on the right of Norwood if he can settle in well.

What 21 year old moving to another country isn't going to be a little unsettled. I'm sure the journalist means no harm and he's decent as far as I can tell. But this is a farewell to Beerschot interview. He's hardly going to say it's miles better here than Belgium. He's bound to want to retain the good terms he has left on after 2 years of his adult life was spent there, especially when it was away from family.

Water off a duck's back. Let him settle. Surprised about his contract though he is only 21 so he can't walk for free and you'd expect United hold an option of a further year. Agree it would be odd to loan him if it was his final year, but then again he was pencilled in for 3 years at Beerschot so you'd expect some contingency in place.

Really! On the back of half a season !.
He could be a really good player but no team is going to shell out millions at this stage ,we could have potentially someone who goes on to be a big player ! So why not have a good luck at him before making any big decisions.

Who’s told him to get on with it?

Shouldn’t have signed for us if he didn’t want to be in England. Can’t recall him being forced into it.

Personally, I don't believe he ever did sign for a middling Championship team. He was given a 3 year loan deal to the Belgian Premier League on a 3 year contract

Click on the link Bergen Blade sent. He speaks perfectly good English and he's two years older now and been in a mixed environment. For all number of reasons he may not settle, but I don't see struggled with the language being one of them.

Middling? We finished 5th last season. He signed for a Premier League side. The loan was quite clearly (a) for work permit purposes and (b) for him to get some first team experience at a decent standard.

Perhaps he should give it more than a week to judge the club and take onboard the support they’ll undoubtedly be offering him. I’ve moved jobs before and hated it for the first few months, before getting to know the differences in the company culture and end up loving my time there.

Did you move countries?

Everyone not in the Premier League is a middling Championship side, just the way of the world now.

Regardless of the original circumstances of his move he sounds like he's not happy about having to leave a country he's comfortable in and (regardless of what you think of the quality) a top division team. I only really care about the value he can bring to the team, not the lad personally (although I wish hi no ill). If he doesn't want to be here, he won't be.
 
Sounds like a reyt player.

Considering he was part of a team resoundingly relegated in the 2021-22 season, he's doing well coming over here and wanting 'respect'. If he aint getting that from Shirecliffe, fuck me just speak to Norwood and Fleck about what happens when you dick up down on the green stuff at Bramall Lane on a Satdi. WE HAVE NO MONEY

I'm confused why so many fans aren't grasping this concept.

As things stand, we will be relying on him to play 30 games this season, at a guess. Most of these appearances might be off the bench but if we get injuries he will be starting games.

Our midfield is:

Fleck, Norwood, Osborn

AMC

Berge

That is 4 midfielders. 4, and Osborn has never done particularly well there and Berge has not looked very good in the Norwood role. Norwood and Fleck are both the wrong side of 30 and we desperately need some legs in there.

We need to bring in 2-3 midfielders.

He will take up one of those slots.

1. We don't have the time to take a good look at his to see if he's good enough. We should already know this given he's been at another club in the group for 2 years, but our seeming lack of enthusiasm to bring him back previously would make me think we are far from convinced.
2. It has been mentioned several times that he needs to 'have his hand held'. Are we really that kind of club? We've had several of these type of players recently and it normally hasn't worked out.
3. The obvious person he'd befriend is Ndiaye (age, language, background). If he starts to become unsettled or wants to leave is he likely to unsettle him as well?
4. What I can gather from comments and reports, the defensive side of the game is not his strength. That's in a slower league. Ndiaye struggles to play in midfield, despite his workrate, due to this.

If this was last year when we had cover, I would agree with you. Worth taking a look at him and seeing how it goes. However, we're basically gambling on him being able to step into a new country/league straight away. If we can't do this, then that might be a major factor in where we end up. Sure, he might be a great player in 3 years but we're not in the position to carry him. Plus, he can leave on a free at the end of the season and even if he plays every game are you telling me he won't go to a bigger club?

I have no idea how football work permits work now, but would he even get another work permit if he didn't play basically all of most games for us?
 
I was convinced he was never going to play for us before and I am even more convinced of that now.

I suspect a lot of this is taken out of context but it creates a good excuse for the club to move him on for a bit of a fee without people losing their shit over it.
