Peck always looked a standout player. Said to some friends a weeks back I wouldn’t be surprised if we found him around the 1st fringes like Osula and Jebbo… that or he’s the next out on loan. Positive stuff.
Age is just a number

In the full article he also says that he does not feel the respect and warmth when training with the Blades and that he has doubts over his future there. Like I said he is a player that needs confidence and warmth to shine, he is not the one to treat as a nobody trainee because he will not deliver then. Hope your management staff takes this on board or another big talent gone to waste for the group, just like Tissoudali.

Is this Tissoudali lad someone who had a trial with us. TBH not heard anything about him and google him. Had some impressive stats although seen nothing of him.

Tissoudali was sold by us for peanuts during the winter transfer period when you were your last season in the PL. I never understood why the owners did not try to transfer him to you. He was and still is the best attacking player in Belgium, full international for Morocco and now subject to interest of Valencia. Big missed opportunity there to show how being part of a group could have benefits.

The problem is that it is a man’s game played by men. He cannot react like the spoilt kid in the play ground and expect special attention from his fellow players. Yes slowly Introduce him into the group etc etc. but

I think it’s time to realize we are in the year 2022 and not longer in 1964. If you want to be successful with young talents you need to manage them looking at their personal needs and character, it’s not a 1 approach fits all. I can think of hundreds of world talents who get special attention to get the best out of them and clubs doing very well because of it.

From the article it sounds like he wants a transfer to AA Gent.

Things like that make you question the point of it all.

I’d imagine it’ll be hard for him to begin with new country all new teammates but our group of players seem to get on well and socialise a lot outside of work so to speak so hopefully if he comes in gets his head down for a few weeks he’ll be made to feel welcome and part of the group. Our staff also have and extensive background working at junior level so you’d assume they’re used to putting an arm round a player so to speak.

I hope he’s a success here as it seems we’re banking quite a lot on him working out and his pathway to first team minutes seems relatively unobstructed.

I guess when he came over he was just this random player coming into training for a week. He'd be mixing with those who probably knew they were not getting new deals too. Not the best circumstances to be wholly accepted.

I think it is different this time. He comes as a fully fledged member of the squad.

Heckingbottom has a lot of experience of managing the younger talents and a lot seem to speak highly of his interactions. He's quite an intelligent, educated guy. One of the coaches, Jack Lester was also involved with the youth set up, so if he is going to thrive, he is not going to find much more of an empathetic support group than the one he is going into. Stuart McCall, a brilliant midfielder in his own right, looks after the midfield players and he's a very good natured sort of guy. I think he'll be surprised and as I mentioned before, with 5 subs he can be eased in. I found with 3 subs this is perhaps less forgiving.

Sharp is also an excellent captain. I'm sure he'll help him to settle in, just like with Berge.

Does coulibaly say this?

Pretty sure Mbappe is picking the team, choosing the dressing room paint scheme and shagging the owner's wife as part of his new PSG contract!

Obviously he needs to feel welcome and PH needs to show him he’ll be given a fair crack at the whip and on the flip side he needs to show he wants to be here.

But it always amazes me that we have football clubs which spend millions upon millions of pounds on footballers but often show little or now desire to help players (often teenagers or not much older) settle into a new / foreign country where they know no one and might not even speak the language.

They are only ever going to perform at their best if they feel comfortable/settled. I’m convinced this is the reason so many signings flop. We should have had a plan for him if we’re bringing him over, show him what we know about where he’d fit in if he performs well and what our vision is for him and make him feel like more than a commodity - that’s just common sense.

He’s literally been here a week & because people don’t see him as the best player like they did in Belgium he’s unhappy. Bloody hell, prove yourself first kid

How do you know he is not getting the right support.
We would be nieve as a club (Hecki) to not support him.
Probably his agent speaking to try to pressurise the club! Which won't work.

All for man management but he really needs to wind his neck in and show us something on the pitch first. He won't last long in the professional game with an attitude like that.

I'm not sure going to the press after 4 days at the club and saying "I don't like my team mates" is the best way of endearing yourself to them. He's probably just not quite taken to the British way of ripping the shit out of each other just yet.
Give it some time Ismaila, you'll be fine. It's how we show love

No it isn't. It's a professional game played by young adults for whom being happy at work is important. They also have the power in the relationship and can force a move.

He can do what he likes
