OK, so if we were to hire this magical financial director that's also well up on the ins and outs of modern football contract negotiations, who doesn't immediately tell you "being the FD and just the FD of a nine figure business is a full time job on its own, if you want me to negotiate contracts as well either pay me a fortune or fuck off", what would make the club more money in this situation:
a) We negotiate the sale of Ndiaye to Marseille for £10 million in house
b) We pay a consultant £1m to negotiate the sale of Ndiaye to Marseille, which goes through for £12 million?
There's a reason why so many clubs utilise positions like directors of football, specialist analysts and consultants, rather than the "Hecky does everything" approach that some people here (not necessarily yourself) would clearly like the club to use and use forever - because they typically offer better value for money than the jack of all trades master of none approach.
