Donaldson doesn't need to pull his socks up he needs shipping out ASAP. Never seen such laziness in a player before.
Agree with this. I watched the whole game v Reading and he was watching the ball being played past him on numerous occasions and made no attempt to close down. I bet Leon covers 3 times the ground that Donaldson does.

Maybe this is the opportunity Ched has been waiting for. Hope he does well because that means we do well

Quite like the look of that Utd team.

Evans has a point to prove and if we are paying him a wage then he should be able to come in when we need him too - that's why we have a squad. He will do well today I think.

We have just been bossed away at Fham and ended up on a bit if a hiding. Nothing wrong with trying to stiffen up the midfield by playing a more defensive minded lad who has a bit of height alongside the two smaller lads (Fleck n Evans).

We can judge at full time I guess but i dont get the negativity on here by some to that sufc side.

I would wager that Brooks will come on at some time anyway.
How are we going to create and score goals with this side?

We got bossed at Fulham because they are an outstanding team, Ipswich are not. Its just plain negative to not go into a game like this with players on the pitch who can create you opportunities, if we were going to put out a team like this it should have been against Fulham on Tuesday not today against a far poorer side.

Can't disagree with anything you've put there. I suspect that Fleck will probably push forward more to assume the Duffy role, now's the time for Evans to prove whether he has it or not, given his performances against us (last season) and Walsall this, I'd say he still has (I've a funny feeling that with his friendship with Clarke, there may be a great pairing there). And Lundstram offers that threat arriving late at the edge of the box. As you can say we can all moan about the negativity of the line up or we can look at what the players selected bring to the side.

He’s had chances. Did nothing in the last game apart from missing a golden opportunity in front of goal with a terrible header.
I feel you are fishing but just to point out both Sharp (better opportunity) and Donaldson missed good chances to get efforts on target against Fulham.

Don't understand that side at all. Firstly why if Duffy is injured Holmes isn't in the side and also why Brooks is on the bench and not starting instead of Ched who looks a shadow of his former self.

Looks a very negative team. Its going to be infuriating if we lose Brooks in the summer without even seeing him start 10 games for us.
Brooks still recovering from illness and injury, Wilder did say that he needs to be managed so that he's not out for longer

Good to see Lundstram back as he didn't really do anything wrong when Lee Evans came in, must be his birthday treat.

As for Ched, saw him in the cup v preston and he looked aggressive and i'd say he gives us something very different to Donaldson, as well as being a true natural finisher.

Wilder hardly started Brooks before his illness/injury. With no Duffy we had to start Brooks or Holmes to give the team some creativity. Hope it works but on paper that looks a poor team.

N.B. I would love it if he proved me wrong.
Full game this time mate so hopefully he can surprise you UTB FTP

Does anyone else think that the problem upfront Wilder has is Sharp?

Not in terms of his ability, but the kind of player he is. Chris can play Brooks or Holmes with Clarke or Donaldson but because he's basically not good in the air then he needs someone who is next to him.

Not Billy's fault, just an observation.

I know it's the same for both teams, but Jesus that pitch is poor by today's standards! (Note that I will use this as an excuse if we lose :D)

True, but when he needed to he started him.

Perhaps Holmes isn't ready to give us that creativity and also the defensive duties.

No, not really.

totally agree with this post !

Similar set up as Hull, looking at how they've started similar performance so far, the pitch is horrific, it might just be one of the get down and dirty performers to get the win.

so far Ched Evans might as well be in the betting shop---looks like he is just turning around in circles looking for where the ball might have gone .
absolutely nothing going forward...... early days but looks poor with no outlet or creativity....

surely if Duffy is injured Holmes or Brookes could get these defenders turning and slipping on this pitch. even Donaldson might be an outlet for a hoof up field, but its just so flat, no energy or pace moving forward....this is a game to go for it and a must win, yet it looks like we are going to hang for 0-0
