Sport has used data to recruit for years the widen cricket almanacs have been around since the 1860s, what do you think managers recruited on before? Were managers saying to scouts we need you to find a striker, but I don't want to know any data about him, I don't want none of them fancy statistics like how many goals he's scored or his age or how tall he is or if he can head a ball or owt like that just find out his name, where he lives and whether he pays rent on time and gerrim signed
