Not saying you're wrong - but I find it crazy that a professional footballer would suffer from sciatica. Surely not with all the strength & conditioning, message and therapy they get.

I thought sciatica was mainly a result of inactivity / sitting too much, which puts pressure on the sciatic nerve and inflames it?

Maybe overactivity can distress it too. Happy to be educated if anyone knows their shit!
It may not necessarily be sciatica, which is commonly misdiagnosed, but the root cause being in the muscles like the piriformis going into spasm and being inflamed and putting pressure onto the sciatic nerve.

I've had similar from exercise, such as running and cycling, where you use the glutes, piriformis and hamstrings, but then when you rest (driving car, sitting at a desk etc) they can be in spasm and thats where you get the issues.

Similarly, if he's had some muscles pain in his lower back, there could be a tightening on the hamstrings as well

Not sure what the injury is for Tyrese other than back though

Understood - tough to give it the rest it needs when you're a pro athlete!

Again, not to say that this is the injury he has, but thats my explanation of that injury.

Funnily enough, i had it in 2012 when i ramped up my cycling in the Swiss alps (longer periods of seated climbs and stress on the piriformis) followed by lots of bending and crouching to pack and lug boxes for moving apartment, followed by a week of sitting at my desk. I ended up laid up because of it. Managed to sort it through some reactivation of the muscle.

Not had it for years and then i'd ramped my cycling up again this year, again seated hill climbs... so i felt it, but then i was putting my shoes on one morning and came to stand up and it went into spasm again. Lots of walking eased it off and i was able to get back cycling after 10 days. It then came back again a few weeks later and has been nagging away since, bit much of the pain down the left thigh and arse cheek, sorry for the detail.

Both times its been on the back of increased training, so again, perhaps Tyrese is seeing the impact of more game time this season and perhaps the intensive training programme.

Who said he’s lying? If I was the interviewer I’d ask pertinent questions just to help find out the situation, he clearly injured his hamstring stretching for the goal though in the first half, whether that’s anything to do with his back could well ring true. Anyway, why you jumped to conclusions? The interviewers never ask the right questions, that’s why I mentioned it.
Well you did

I did what, said Wilder was Lying? Quote me writing that or stop being so fucking stupid. I’ve explained why I put what I wrote and asked what I did and some people have answered it, if that’s not good enough for you then just fuck off being an antagonising so and so and stop replying.

You insinuated it

I’m done with explaining to you what I’m writing, if I wanted to call Wilder a lying twat I’d clearly state it and not fuck about beating about the bush.
Why was he holding his hamstring if it was his back then is what the interviewer should’ve asked

Wilder : yeah he's hurt his back
Interviewer : why was he holding his hamstring then ?

I rest my case m'lud

Because some back injuries cause shooting pains down your leg?

A compressed disc in the base of the back
often leads to sciatica.Anyone can get it regardless of physical conditioning.

There’s no way TY is gonna be fit, mind games. Expect Moore to be up top.

Maybe tight calf muscles as well,he does look to have a short leg stance and his lower leg muscles are important in acceleration from standing/walking. His feet structure is important too as lower back pain/sciatica can come from the feet, people need insoles sometimes to balance and distribute.

Bladesman im not surprised re Souza. He's been off his very high standards the last few games and it was pretty obvious he was carrying a problem. He's been so important to us this season that with Blasters injury we haven't been able to rest him. Following Davies display last night I wonder if Souza will get Saturday off to give him 10 days rest to try and recover

Chris (and the team) are being really cautious with injuries and fielding a weekend side rather than risk three months out. This is much better than the previous regime which had a horrendous injury problem - were they playing injured players?
