It may not necessarily be sciatica, which is commonly misdiagnosed, but the root cause being in the muscles like the piriformis going into spasm and being inflamed and putting pressure onto the sciatic nerve. Not saying you're wrong - but I find it crazy that a professional footballer would suffer from sciatica. Surely not with all the strength & conditioning, message and therapy they get.
I thought sciatica was mainly a result of inactivity / sitting too much, which puts pressure on the sciatic nerve and inflames it?
Maybe overactivity can distress it too. Happy to be educated if anyone knows their shit!
I've had similar from exercise, such as running and cycling, where you use the glutes, piriformis and hamstrings, but then when you rest (driving car, sitting at a desk etc) they can be in spasm and thats where you get the issues.
Similarly, if he's had some muscles pain in his lower back, there could be a tightening on the hamstrings as well
Not sure what the injury is for Tyrese other than back though
