At what point does an internal investigation have to happen with regards these injuries?

Ben Osborn's injury has forced Sheffield United to chase a new left wing back. It was hoped Osborn had just strained his groin, but checks have revealed a tear, so he'll be out for a lengthy spell.
After 15 mins of running about
Something is seriously wrong with the conditioning of our players

Did I say that ?
Difficult to interpret your comment as meaning something other than that. I have read it more than once !
If we are misinterpreting it then please let us know who is lacking common sense or otherwise explain the reference to common sense.

It's self explanatory. So no, I won't. Mainly because I cannot be bothered to waste any more of my time on trying to explain something on a football forum. It's not worth my time. I'll say no more on the subject as I think I've made my point perfectly clear. I see Osborn and Fleck are both out for a while again. Still, they are on cheap deals and that's the main thing.

By the way. Who's 'we' and 'us' ? You speaking for the masses?

Seems like you are indeed wasting your time !! Never mind tomorrow will be a better day.

Osborn has featured in every game so far.

Put your sarcasm to one side and tell me who else you would have played when PH obviously feels Slimane is not yet ready in midfield and all our other LWBs are crocked?

Are you also suggesting that Fleck's broken leg is a result of him being offered a new contract?

Osborn won’t be seen again for months. Just like last season when he was injured for five out of nine months. So he will be providing this experienced cover from the treatment room, again.

I’m not suggesting Fleck’s broken leg is a result of a new contract. That’s absurd. I’m suggesting, for both players, that it was absurd to re-sign two players with very poor recent injury records. And the chickens have come gone to roost after 3 games. Terrible planning.

As for who I would have played? I would have played the other LB I would have signed on the basis that:

  • RND doesn’t look like he will play again
  • Lowe is not PL standard IMHO and another one who’s always injured
  • I would not have re-signed Osborn

The LB situation was an accident waiting to happen. If we have any sense we will use one of our loans to get someone competent in before the window closes.

Something isn't right
In fairness some were saying that around this time last season before the training pitch was replaced and eventually the injuries settled down. We didn't have many if any new serious ones as the season wore on so I think it's just a case of shit happens...especially to us.

5 injuries or fewer and by that I mean players that are injured but not out for most of the season.

Most of our injuries the players are missing for months.

Where does that come from though? How does it compare amongst the 92?

Hindsight is a wonderful thing!

Osborn and Fleck were offered new contracts, on low wages. They didn’t have better offers, andtheir contracts were renewed while Illy and Sander were still here.

JLT the same but few are complaining about him as a backup player! Trusty and Davies have not started yet, and McBurnie is back showing promise.

It’s all part of life in football. No one complained when Wilder had no injuries to deal with first season back in the PL?
Maybe PH is being over cautious with new players, or those returning from injury, (McBurnie, Brewster etc)?
Grow a pair or complain before it happens, not afterwards.

We did complain before it happened. It’s not hindsight.

Osborn was worth the contract.

Not that old and already covered left and right side this season whilst putting in good shifts.

Fleck contract was the brain fart

In HINDSIGHT, all 3 provided cover for positions that were not filled at the time. Anyone who was not happy before then, has the right to say, ‘I told you so’ for one third of those players.

I do feel for Osborn. Not a baller, but can’t fault his effort when no one else could do the job. The Fleck fracture needed a specialist to identify the break! I admit I am pleased his contribution is no longer required. JLT playing allows PH to adapt the likes of Trusty to our way of doing things.

If Fleck and Osborn miss most of this season through injury then come next summer they may be open to us offering them even cheaper new contracts than the ones handed out to them this summer. In fact, if we keep offering them even cheaper contracts each summer due to their ongoing injury issues the preceding season, come ten years time, they will be virtually playing for us for nowt. What a bargain for us this will be. You have to look at the positives I feel.

I agree that Lowe isn't PL standard, but my guess is that PH thought he was. Plan B was the new LB, Larouchi, although at the moment he doesn't look it.
Plan C was Osborn, who self inflicted head injury apart, has reasonable injury record.

I don't think RND is even Plan D. I'm not sure we will see him again, which is a big blow, as he was the best option.

In hindsight, LWB looks a major problem and it has been a weakness in the 3 games we've played so far. If we haven't got the money (fee & wages) for another body, then I don't know if Trusty can do a job. It's a big step up though for a young lad who's only played Championship footy.

Real shame for the lad. He gets pelters on here, but think he's usually reliable and competent (without necessarily being Messi) when called upon.

I think we're just looking at the 6 long term injuries now, but not sure with timescales 🤷

RND
Lowe
Osborn
Fleck
Brewster
Jebbison

It looks like a large injury list is a consistent thing with heckingbottom

The bloke obviously knows nothing about conditioning. This cannot be allowed to continue.

Really good point here about the new longer PL stoppage time… every team seems plagued with injuries atm.

It’s a tough one as i hate time wasting, but ultimately this could detriment teams who lack squad depth (aka the little guys like us) over the PL mega-teams, which is arguably more detestable than game management shithousery

Interesting as we were pretty much injury free under Wilder. Apart from "proper" injuries.
