Injuries

Baldock and I thought Osula pulled up with Baldocks cross to back stick. Hope it’s cramp.

Hecky says it's cramp for both Baldock and Lowe but I will just assume we won't see them again til October.

Can moan about lack of signings and trust me I agree but the amount of injuries we sustain under Hecky we’ve got no chance. I’m really hoping Lowe/Baldock is just cramp but this ‘bad luck’ shows no signs of stopping and we’re into the third season.

Mebbes make substitutions before the 78th minute.
Certain older players never get rested or rotated.
It's been a hallmark Of Hecky's management.
He needs to improve in this area, marginal gains and all that, but that doesn't look likely.

People are forgetting we have a 25 man squad. Not much good if nearly 10 of them are injured at any given time.

All the injuries in the past Hecky has had an excuse for them. COVID, lack of pre-season, training ground pitches etc. We are now at a point there is no excuse (unless its an in game contact injury) and lets be right bar JOC we barely had an injury under Wilder.

The injuries we get are always in training or non contact aswell. Id understand if someone tackled one of ours badly but it's always in training.

McBurnie back for Friday? Brewster how is he?

Rhian is progressing but not consideirng him for minutes in the first team. Oli is back in training and under consideration but another one we need to get up to speed, as is Souza. Gus played for Coventry so is further on.

Baldock and Lowe issues against Palace, how are they?

OK, fatigue. Lowe is carrying a little ankle injury as well, he did it on a sprinkler at Derby but it was cramp that he came off with the other day, so he's fine.

Everyone else?

Yeah, one or two back in. Oli this week, so bit by bit getting stronger. Hopefully, we will have Jayden back with us soon

Now about integrating everyone back?

It's been different had some boys away with us in Portugal and been with us and then the rest of the lads arrived after season started, not had all that time and they will be getting all their fitness in first team minutes

I'll be honest I've gave up on bogle
He looked so bereft of confidence last season that I just don't think he will make it with us

The marked difference when Baldock came back in the side with his aggression and leadership quality's

I just don't think.bogle has what it takes to make it at the top

Brewster’s fitness is irrelevant. He’s not good enough to play in the PL.
This point often gets lost.

He’s had a spell of about 6 games where he scored 3 goals two Januarys ago.

That aside, he’s either been injured or severely lacking anticipation that you’d expect from a striker you’ve paid 20m for.

Of a similar age, but George Hirst is probably a more reliable striking option right now. Taken a much more humble route but it seems to be coming together for him and in terms of being on the pitch and scoring goals, at least he’s actually doing that.

Not for one minute suggesting he’s a PL option but scored 6 in the last 11 games when Ipswich went up and has started with a goal and an assist in his first three league and cup. Ranked at 800k on transfermarkt.

Brewster is the reverse of Ndiaye who was bought for buttons and sold for circa 20m. The only people who seem to think Brewster was worth 20m+ were Wilder and his recruitment buddies.

For those who, arguably rightly scoff at Joe Crann’s comment that Wednesday’s latest signing must have something about him or he wouldn’t have been on PSG’s books, you can back up that stance with our own Exhibit A.

He had a purple patch where he looked a cut above, it was maybe 5-10 games in a row of 8/10 stuff. He was contributing as you'd expect at the top of the pitch, but his defending and physicality markedly improved.
Then he got injured and hasn't looked anything like it since.

Sadly, as with Brewster, I don't see him breaking that injury cycle for long enough to ever get the momentum going again.
Shame, as they're such talents.

I think you are being a bit unfair on Rhian.
He is 1 year younger than Hirst and didn't make his league debut until 4 years after Hirst had made his.
Its taken Hirst 7 years to start scoring regularly and he's only really done it at the end of last season and the start of this.
I still think Brewster can come good for us if and it's a big if he can have a injury free season.

Injuries are completely fucking us again.

We can moan about the Board on certain things but players themselves, they just have to stop getting injuries!

Third choice right back option.

Even without recruitment, 4th and 5th choice centre forward options.

If we'd have been able to call on senior players tonight, we'd have taken a point. If Traore could have shown more composure we could have taken three.

The management team are getting away with murder not facing down serious questions about our injury record. The number of players dropping in the first 2 games is an embarrassment. Our squad is threadbare as it is, look at who we are having to bring on. Winding me up for well over a year now.
