Bladesman
The Great Grumbleduke
I did wonder if there is more injury news we don't know of because he seemed particularly annoyed today.
I hope its not the case and he is annoyed at some of the questions.

Option 5 for me, do a Boro and have the game called off! Can we still use Covid as an excuse till after the World Cup?It doesn't look like Anel has trained so we could have another casualty.
Might tally up with Heckingbottom's poor mood in the press conference and alluding to being forced to change shape.
With that in mind...
Option 1:
Do we bring Gordon straight in and hold our shape?
Baldock....Gordon....Egan....Basham.......RND
Option 2:
Same shape, but with Khadra at LWB. Might work in a game where (hopefully) we have more of the ball.
Baldock.....Basham.....Egan......RND........Khadra
Option 3:
Or do we change shape?
We could play 4 at the back with a flat 3 in front, for protection.
4-3-2-1
Baldock......Basham.....Egan..........RND
........Arblaster.....Norwood.......Doyle
....................Berge...........Ndiaye
..........................McBurnie
Option 4:
Or we could go really attacking.
4-2-3-1
Baldock......Basham....Egan.......RND
............Norwood............Doyle
..........Berge.........................McAtee
.................................Ndiaye
....................... Mcburnie
Baldock wasn't at training either. If Baldock and Anel are out that means we are missing Lowe, Stevens, Clark, Robinson, JOC, Anel, Bogle, Baldock leaving us with only RND, Egan, Basham and Gordon to fill five positions. Lopata should have hung around as he would probably be getting a run out. Hopefully the fears about Baldock and Anel are unfounded and they are available
Clark and Stevens the mystery injuries. I'm sure Hecky said they were close 2 weeks ago.
5m 10s isn't that them two running around pitch?
HahahahahahahahahhaIf you freeze frame and look carefully you can see that bastard sniper up by the trees.

It's not just the number of injuries that is concerning it is how long players are taking to get fit and the number of serious injuries that seem unnaturally high. Not many short term knocks they all seem to be long term lay offs .
When I started watching dem Blades in the 1960s , there was one sub + we often went almost whole seasons barely having used him. The same 11 played every week on muddy pitches with a heavy old ball getting kicked all over by Tommy Smith , Norman Hunter & Chopper Harris. It's not just the number of injuries that is concerning it is how long players are taking to get fit and the number of serious injuries that seem unnaturally high. Well may be thats the problem todays players are like a racing car and highly tuned and are not as robust and it takes just a small knock to injure them selves .Unlike Badger ,Currie , and Woody who were not rapped in bubble wrap and spent a long time in the Penny Farthing night club most nights .When I started watching dem Blades in the 1960s , there was one sub + we often went almost whole seasons barely having used him. Wtf has happened to players resilience when we play with a lightweight ball on perfect pitches ?
Anyway let's call off all our games until we can get some defenders fit.
One substitute in football was allowed from 1958 - around the time I fell in love with Sheffield United. Alan Hodgkinson, Joe Shaw, Gerry Summers, Doc Pace et al. Those players were rarely out with injuries, never mind the long-term injuries we are facing today. Something is not quite right behind the scenes at United right now - ten players with long-term injuries? Unprecedented. The club needs to initiate an independent investigation into what is behind this crisis urgently before it cripples our chances of promotion this season. As a minimum, the club need to account to us, the fans, for this injury crisis.
It is possibly a reflection on the higher standards of match fitness and personal health regimes required by players today. The club also has a duty of care to injured players, ensuring they are not retuned to the playing squad until health professional give them the all clear. Can't see Jack ever returning.
Agree with all your points . We seen to suffer an inordinate number of injuries both in training and during matches along with crazy lengths of time out. Is that on Management? Who else? Concerning.
If I were the Prince , I think I would be demanding some explanations - I lose track of who the fuck is the chairman or to whom Bettis or Hecky are accountable , but if it were my company and half my machinery was kaput , producing nothing to help reach our targets , I would be on that videoblower with a face like thunder , chewing someone's ear off.One substitute in football was allowed from 1958 - around the time I fell in love with Sheffield United. Political incorrectness warning ...It is possibly a reflection on the higher standards of match fitness and personal health regimes required by players today. Not much the manager, club and players can do about that!
In days of old when knights were bold and monkeys chewed tobacco - as me grandad used to say. They were not allowed in English football until 1965-6.
Keep yer hair on and calm down a bit. I suggested it as a possibility. I realise that you have sand in your pants over the injury issues, but the solution is not always to spend money we don’t have.Political incorrectness warning ...
These feckin snowflakes are earning multiple times what my old heroes got but they want to finish as rich men without ever suffering ?
Stick a feckin cortisone injection into em + gerrem aaht ont pitch.
Apologies to those of a sensitive disposition.
Bring back Bill Shankly.
"What's your problem son ? Do you actually wantae play fer Liverpool ?
