Im not going but...

I’d love to go but as someone who is in their 70s with an underlying health condition I don’t like the thought of being amongst a few thousand unvaccinated under 35-year olds. The crowd might be well spaced in their seats but whilever the pubs are open there’ll be somebody who has to nip to the toilet during the game - not much room for social distancing when you’re shuffling along the kop to get out! Roll on next season.

I've written and published Blogs from 939 games (various) I've been to. You won't find one where I haven't enjoyed it. I fully respect how others feel in defeat or poor performance. And, of course, I enjoy it less when we lose, or are poor, but I still enjoy it. That's just how it works for me.
TBF Phil I think that attitude was prevalent in most us that travelled with Shred.

No they do not deserved to be clapped on this season, but on the basis of the previous 4 seasons neither do they deserve to be booed. An indifferent shrug of the shoulders is the best I could offer!

But you would have to pay me to go quite honestly, its been so bad this season. I would rather give £40 to a charity!

And some that never had that pleasure, me being one of them.

It's a bloody game ffs, a good excuse for a day out with mates and a few beers.

If the "performance" or result is THAT important to you then you have something seriously lacking in your life. (not aimed at you ghandi , just a general comment)

Because the majority of them got us up into the Prem and then gave us the best season most of us can remember last year.

Plus a fair few of them will be here next season. We are supposed to be supporters rather than football critics.

Phil also travelled with Shred and the drink on the day was always predominant, well if that wasn't right that would have been something to moan about.!

I knew Shred and whenever we bumped into each other we'd always have a natter but I've never been travelling from Sheffield and therefore the train has always been my friend.

Love the blades family but sometimes it seems some need to moan about something.

Yeah but it’s 40 quid, yeah but we are already down, yeah I’m going to boo them because they deserve it, yeah but it will be crap with only 5k there.

FFS Blades. I’m going tomorrow with 3 other mates, Will have a couple of pints and just enjoy being back in BDTBL again after 14 long months

We're going. It's too expensive, but then we would have spent £800 on season tickets this season, before fortnightly trains down to Shef etc etc, so not all bad. I wouldn't pay it every game, but ultimately the money goes to United the players.
There fixed it for you.

The same utterly useless twats with probably 2/3 exceptions that have helped put us where we are.

Lundstram/Norwood/Brewster/Moussett etc should be paying us for watching them!

Those who are going, because they’ve missed it; do you think it’ll be the same with 3/4k? The thing you’ve missed won’t be available.

I’ve missed it too, but I can’t see how sitting in a stadium with nobody there will satisfy my craving for going back. Throw the £40 ticket into the mix and I’m certain I’d have regretted it.
I'm going with very low expectations. £41 is a piss take but I'm in a bit of a "what the fuck" mood at the moment.

I was expecting others to think the same way but it seems not

The current social media narrative is that if you're paying £41 to go tomorrow, you're part of the problem.

No one seems to be able to put their finger on what "the problem" is, but I'm not sure it has much to do with poor signings, squad injuries, manager and board falling out, manager leaving and generally poor performances from the squad.

Must be a different problem.

Same problem as the pigs an owner screwing the fans over and fans that accept it.

Then the worst!

It’s one match buddy, pigs have been getting screwed for the last few years

It’s a Sunday, it’s 4pm, I’d be doing fuck all else and it’s the first time I’ve set foot in the lane for 14 months

Anybody saying don't go or don't give the team some support shouldn't go. Simple.
Ludicrous saying boo them or don't clap. Complete bollocks.
This is the team who've given us one of the best periods we've ever had..they've gone off a cliff, bit still did hit those highs in our shirt.

Although the ticket price is ludicrous I think the lack of sales is more to do with not being able to go with family etc. My kids for example don’t have the same loyalty points as I do. If they’d let people living at the same address book when the main account holder had enough points they’d have sold much more.
Having said all that I hope those who attend tomorrow are given priority when the the next big cup game comes round.

The club have marketed this badly, yes it's £40 but you're not just paying for any regular game.... you're paying to see us smash the records for the most losses and the Fewest goals in a top flight season... You can say you were there!!

This is genuinely the only reason I’m slightly sad I’m not going.

For me, there isn’t any single reason I’m staying away - it’s part boycott, part “it’ll be shit anyway” and mainly that the reward of losing 1-0 to sliced Matt Lowton cross isn’t worth the risk of bringing back the lurgy to some semi-vulnerable family.

But on the other hand… most losses in a season, least goals and, more importantly, lowest ever league attendance. It’s another Port Vale. Give it a decade, and a quarter of a million will claim they were there.

This is the first time I will have “chosen” to miss a home game in 14 years.
I am lucky I can afford it
I’m just disgusted at the Clubs pricing for such a none event
there are 1,000s of blades including Blade families who finding the money and justifying it for this is a no no
So wrong IMO

We may possibly get the record for the lowest ever attendance at a PL match.

Reminder for those that ARE going. Take some form of picture ID. I've only just noticed it in the small print of my ticket.

I'm not having it. Sorry.
£40 is the match day ticket price for a CAT A premier League game.

The club obviously thought this match would be in high demand as did many on here prior to tickets coming out.

A club with 20000+ season ticket holders might expect to easily sell 5000 seats having not been open for over a year.

They called it wrong. I'm happy with my season ticket price. I don't think anyone is taking the piss, yet

I think we’ll escape that because of the teams who could have 2000 fans in depending on where they were in the country just before the last national lockdown.
