As above, it's literally what PH said in his press conference.

This constant following my posts and calling them out for negativity, or an anti-blades agenda, or whatever other nonsense you have in your head - has it started getting boring for you yet?

There's better ways of having fun on the internet. Have you discovered porn yet? Give it a Google.

PH said that Ndiaye/his Agent doesn’t want to sign a new deal?

I’d have thought something like that would’ve caused a bigger uproar on here

It’s what Heckingbottom has said in his presser.
Not quite. He said that the club would sell if a big enough offer came in. Isn’t that the case with nearly all professional footballers ?
If no offer comes and we get promoted he may be here for another year and then it will depend on how he copes in the Premiership.

Did you listen to the presser?
It's exactly what he said. He said he and his reps don't want to sign it and want to explore other possibilities.

No I didn’t. That’s why I asked you.

As I said, it’s strange that it hasn’t caused more uproar on here.

We will get the same strange characters we got on the Berge thread demanding we sell him tomorrow for 50p, first dibs on a loan of a youngster and a friendly.

I did listen and have done so again. There are two separate points here. First he indicated what we all know , that if any offer comes in which is big enough the Club will sell.
Second he said ID’s agent was looking at other possibilities, which is what you would expect him to do. He didn’t indicate that the agent was not saying don’t sign, but don’t sign yet.

I think he said they didn’t want to sign at present whilst they do their job and check other possibilities
Not really surprising. I’ve said before that Ndiaye doesn’t really owe us any loyalty, we fucked him about not playing him until he signed his current contract and we now probably can’t afford to pay him what he wants for his next contract (unless we go up).

I’m fairly sure he’d stay if we are a PL club but on the same basis as Jagielka did where he could leave if we got relegated.

Appreciate that might be the way you interpreted it, but he didn't use words like "at present" at all.
It actually felt a lot more closed shop than that. At least, to me it did.

PH said "if he doesn't want to sign it then he doesn't sign it... it's up to his agent to come to the table... (but) his representatives want to explore other things... I'd love him to stay... but if a big bid comes in then the club will sell him regardless of what I say."

I think it's a closed book until the Summer. Maybe, if we go up, his agent will entertain our offer.
At a guess, our offer would probably have to make him the highest paid player and contain a reasonable release clause in the event of relegation.
If we don't go up he's gone regardless.

With 18 months to go, if we really look like going up surely the compromise is a new deal with a release clause of some sort?

Football is a short career but by the same token, why would he want to sit on say 10k per week for the next 18 months when the club might pay him 20k per week for the next 6 months and let's say 40k per week for the following 12 months and beyond?

There is no guarantee that he will be at the level to excel in the Premier League. We hope he does but no guarantee; he didn't get much change out of the England defence, for instance. He might even get a terrible injury, that would be terrible all round. Then he's going to be thinking "why did I get so far ahead of myself and earn just £780,000 for the remaining 18 months when I could have earned £2,600,000?"

I don't think this is so cut and dried that he won't sign a new deal. He'll be 23 when we finish the season. It's not as if he's 18 and achieving what he is doing in the Championship and that he has an astronomical trajectory that we couldn't possibly hope to keep him. If we're a club in the Premier League, probably in the middle in terms of club size, that's a good level for him.

So what if they’re a London club? Never understood that argument. The most successful clubs in England are all from the North. The best players in the league play at northern clubs. The best mangers in the league are at northern clubs. Player go to successful clubs where the best coaches are rather than dig out Google maps and check where a club is based. If it was like that then teams from London would be walking away with the league every year.

Not really true though
Many foreign players especially would sign for a London club or London region club first and foremost

They'll either be good enough to sign for Man City, Man Utd or Liverpool or they'll generally want a London club.

The situation is getting worse, even if biggish clubs from the North like us, Leeds, Forest are willing to pay the same contract as Palace or Fulham or Brighton, we've got an uphill task trying to sign them

He may well go in January.
He’ll definitely go in the Summer if we don’t go up.
He’ll probably go in the Summer if we do go up.
Even if he stays in the Summer he’ll be gone by the following summer.

He’s got between 1 month and 18 months left in red and white. No chance he signs a new deal.

Best we can hope for is to enjoy the ride, hope he fires us to promotion and we get a stonking fee for him.

Summer exit most likely IMHO. Promotion would enable Utd to offer a much better contract which may tempt him but he's likely to be able to still get more elsewhere (if $$ is his / his rep's main driver). TBH I can see him going to somewhere like Nice once they rid themselves of past-it players on huge salaries.
It would have to be a staggering offer for Utd to decide to sell in Jan - it would be a huge risk to Utd's promotion hopes and would be reliant on (i) Utd having a ready replacement identified (which I would hope would be the case) and (ii) them hitting the ground running i.e. automatic starter and regular scorer.

If he did go this Jan for a daft amount, then I would be looking at securing a loan back until the summer.

I can't see a replacement out there unfortunately 😕

Just off a world cup where he broke through to the first team and having the season of his life. I worry his agent will see this as the best time to push for a move.

Did get the impression from Brown, Hecky and sweetman kirks comments he's close to a new deal actually

Not sure why any club willing to pay a premium to secure a Jan transfer would then be willing to loan the player back.

I would hope Paul Mitchell has a number of viable options for each position, particularly for those positions where exits are most likely.

I suppose if they’re buying for the future not for immediate use. Some teams can afford to do that

This would be delightful, did think similar but then easy to read too much into this.
If we announced that on Christmas day that would be quite a social media coup haha!

Hecky does seem to be fairly pragmatic and not panicking about losing him (I.E not too concerned).
Sounds like Iliman's attitude cannot be questioned too, he wants to play and likes playing for us.

For me if we lose him that's a massive void with the way we are playing and he is playing.

I wonder now if this is linked to the takeover? Maybe they were aware that this was pending and whoever is coming in is giving Ndiaye a blank cheque for his salary?

Wishful thinking 😂. I doubt this is a Man City / Newcastle takeover

I thought the same, and have mentioned that elsewhere on here. Hecky was much more positive than he has been previously in this regard. Sweetman Kirk had a knowing smile too when asked about it. I wouldn't have thought Browny would know F all about it, but maybe SK filled him in during the commercial break?!

Ndiaye is in a strong negotiating position. What I think will happen, and what Lundstram should have done, is he'll sign a new deal on much improved terms but insist on clauses to enable his sale in the event that top league sides express and interest andmeet a minimum threshold in their offer. Due to Ndiaye's negotiating position, this figure will be much lower than would normally be expected i.e. £15-20m.

Of course, should Utd go up, they could offer further improved terms in a bid to keep him
